    Friendly staff, modern apartments, independent

I live here and the staff are outstanding-Kathy and Leah especially-friendly, caring and very helpful. The apartments are modern, clean, well cared-for, with in-suite washer/dryer, full kitchen and utilities included; the patio, garden and location are lovely. The community has great amenities, planned trips, Friday happy hour and a van for appointments, but it's independent living-no meals provided-can be expensive, activities/outdoor interaction are limited, and some residents are older than advertised. Overall a great place if you want independent living with attentive staff, but not ideal if you need more assistance.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive about the physical property and staff, with repeated praise for cleanliness, modern apartments, and attentive personnel. Reviewers consistently describe the exterior and grounds as attractive and well-maintained, and the interior units as clean, modern, and well cared-for. Practical in-unit features such as a full kitchen, in-suite washer and dryer, and utilities included in rent were highlighted as meaningful conveniences. The community’s location, outdoor garden and patio, and general amenities earned multiple positive mentions.

Staff quality and service are among the strongest and most frequently cited positives. Multiple reviewers called the staff friendly, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Two staff members, Kathy and Leah, were singled out by name and praised as remarkable, with recommendations that the community is a great place to live largely because of staff performance. The office staff and on-site team are described as supportive and responsive, contributing significantly to residents’ favorable impressions.

Social programming and transportation are mixed but notable. The community runs recurring events such as a Friday happy hour and organizes regular excursions—church outings, casino trips, store runs, and other planned trips—which many reviewers appreciated. A community van for appointments and outings is an advantage for residents who need transportation assistance. However, several reviewers also pointed out that social interaction can be limited for some residents and that activity offerings may be insufficient or inconsistent. A few reviewers explicitly felt there were “not many activities,” and others reported a lack of resident interaction, indicating variability in how well the programming meets different residents’ social needs.

Dining and meal arrangements are a consistent area of concern. Clear Creek Commons appears to operate as independent living without provided meal service; multiple reviewers noted there are no meals supplied and that residents must prepare their own food. Some considered this a poor food solution, and the lack of on-site meal service may be an important drawback for prospective residents who expect or need prepared meals or communal dining.

Appropriateness of care level and marketing clarity are important patterns of concern. Several reviews emphasize that Clear Creek Commons is independent living, which is suitable for active seniors. However, there are complaints about a mismatch between expectations and reality—specifically that the community was presented as a 55+ environment but, in practice, the resident demographic skewed older (around 85+ in some reports). A few reviewers also noted that the community does not provide higher levels of assistance, and that residents needing more help may not be well-served there. One reviewer noted they could not visit prior to deciding to move in, which exacerbated mismatches between expectations and reality. These points suggest prospective residents should confirm age mix, level-of-care policies, and the presence/absence of services before committing.

Cost and unit availability: some reviewers described the apartments as expensive. There are also comments about limited units, which can be positive (small, close-knit community) or negative (limited availability and fewer social options), depending on perspective. In summary, Clear Creek Commons receives strong marks for property upkeep, apartment features, and especially staff quality. The community offers transportation and outings but lacks meal service and may have limited or inconsistent activity programming. Prospective residents should verify the expected resident age range, the level-of-care services available, the meal situation, and ideally visit in person before making a decision, particularly if they require more assistance or budget-conscious options.

    About Clear Creek Commons

Clear Creek Commons sits right in downtown Golden, Colorado, where seniors can enjoy an active lifestyle with easy walks or bike rides along Clear Creek, and you'll find shops, restaurants, hospitals, doctors, and rehab centers all nearby which makes daily life simple and convenient. This senior living community is for adults aged 55 or better and has an average rating of 7.9 out of 10. Residents can choose studio, one, or two bedroom apartments, all with fully equipped kitchens, carpeted floors, central air, in-home washers and dryers, and extra storage, plus you can get an extra storage unit for $15 a month or pay for garage parking at $100, while there's also unassigned surface parking if you'd rather skip the garage. Cats and dogs are allowed, but there are some breed restrictions and a two-pet limit per apartment, and the community always feels clean and well-kept with friendly, accessible staff who help out and are around when needed.

The leasing office runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but is closed on weekends, and new residents go through an application process with a fee of $28.75 per person, a $200 deposit, and proof of income at least 1.5 times the rent, where lease lengths can run anywhere from 6 to 15 months. Utilities like cable, electric, gas, water, trash, hot water, sewer, and internet are all included in the rent, which takes the guesswork out of monthly costs. The apartments give people the chance to cook for themselves if they want, but there's also an on-site restaurant discount program for going out, plus hassle-free transportation and a concierge service that brings packages right to the door. For those that enjoy fresh air, there's a large community patio with creek views, a community garden, fire pit, and spaces designed for relaxing or spending time with neighbors, along with a clubhouse, game room, and a courtyard.

Clear Creek Commons focuses on independent living for seniors who want an active retirement, but it goes further with support for residents facing memory challenges, providing a safe environment and amenities designed with cognitive health in mind along with specialized care and medication management for those who need it. Building maintenance and security are always part of the package, and the staff work to provide regular social, educational, and entertaining programs to keep minds active and support quality of life. There's a busy resident activity calendar, community events, and senior-friendly bathrooms and common areas, not to mention easy access to Wi-Fi and high-speed internet for either connecting with loved ones or keeping up with hobbies. Prospective residents can look at floor plans, availability, and even 3D models online and if you're someone who likes to see pictures, there's a gallery and even a virtual tour to get a feel for the place. Information about amenities, pricing, and special offers is available online, and there's a simple "Apply Now" option for getting started if the community feels like a fit.
