    Spacious sunlit one-bedroom, helpful staff

I live in a spacious, sun-filled one-bedroom with well-maintained grounds and good community security. The director and staff are very helpful, maintenance is responsive, and the building is clean. There are some activities (bible study, common rec area), a shuttle, adjacent parking, and easy access to the metro and newer stores. I would recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Park View at Laurel II is uniformly positive. Multiple reviewers highlight the facility as secure and well-kept, with a strong sense of community and staff that are both helpful and responsive. The cumulative impression is of a comfortable, convenient senior living community with well-maintained grounds, accessible location, and thorough on-site support services.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers consistently praise the staff as clean, helpful, and responsive, with particular recognition for maintenance responsiveness and effective leadership from the director. While these summaries do not include detailed references to clinical or nursing care levels, the repeated emphasis on helpful staff and an effective director suggests strong day-to-day operational management and a staff culture that residents appreciate.

Facilities and apartments: The physical environment receives strong marks. Apartments are described as spacious one-bedroom units that offer abundant natural light and a well-designed setup. Grounds are maintained, and there is a dedicated common recreational area for residents. These points indicate comfortable living spaces and communal amenities that support socializing and leisure within the community.

Activities and programming: The community offers organized programming such as bible studies and at least some other activities. However, the language in the summaries (“some activities”) suggests the variety or breadth of programming may be limited relative to other providers. Residents value the faith-based offerings noted, but prospective residents interested in a wide range of daily activities might want to inquire further about the full calendar and frequency of events.

Location and transportation: Park View at Laurel II scores well for location and transit convenience. Reviewers note a central location close to newer stores, an adjacent parking lot, and accessibility to the metro, as well as an on-site shuttle service. These features together make the community convenient for errands, shopping, and travel, and they support independence for residents who still get out frequently.

Management, maintenance, and security: Management appears effective and well-regarded, with the director singled out positively. Maintenance responsiveness is a repeated positive, and security is explicitly mentioned, which supports a sense of safety for residents. The combination of responsive maintenance, good leadership, and attention to security contributes to the overall recommendation by reviewers.

Gaps and considerations: The reviews do not mention dining services, clinical care specifics, pricing, or move-in/onboarding details beyond the word “setup,” so those are areas a prospective resident should investigate directly. The only mild negative theme is the characterization of programming as “some activities,” which may point to limited variety; if a robust activities calendar is a priority, ask for a sample activity schedule and participation levels.

Conclusion: Based on the available summaries, Park View at Laurel II presents as a clean, secure, and well-managed community with spacious, light-filled apartments, supportive staff, and convenient transportation and retail access. It appears to offer a positive community atmosphere and is recommendable by current reviewers, with the main caveat being to confirm the depth and variety of activities and to obtain more detailed information about dining and clinical services if those are important factors for decision-making.

About Park View at Laurel II

Park View at Laurel II is a senior apartment community that welcomes people who want independent or assisted living, and there are studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floorplans to choose from, with apartments that range from 598 to 948 square feet, so there's a good amount of space and natural light, and residents get private apartments with full kitchens, bath tubs, and either one or two bathrooms depending on the unit. The facility has both indoor and outdoor common areas, so there's a central fireplace inside, a meeting room, and indoor spaces where people can relax or gather, and there's also an outside patio and outdoor spaces meant for both recreation and relaxation where residents can enjoy the fresh air.

The apartments are air conditioned and have senior-friendly bathrooms with wheelchair accessible showers and other handicap accessible features, so getting around is a bit easier for those who need it. There are uncovered parking spaces outside, and resident parking is available, and if someone needs to get somewhere, the community offers both complimentary transportation and transportation at a cost, plus public transit is close by.

Residents can keep active in the fitness center and join a full schedule of on-site and off-site activities, and there are holiday parties that give people a chance to celebrate together. There are also devotional activities, both on and off-site, which some folks like, and the facility tries to create opportunities for socializing so people can meet new friends and stay connected. The community has programs focused on social, educational, and emotional engagement, and those are meant to help people stay busy and maintain a good quality of life.

Park View at Laurel II is pet-friendly, allowing cats and small dogs between 21-30 pounds, but there's a pet policy to follow, and that might be important to know if someone is thinking about bringing a pet. The staff here is trained and friendly, aiming to help out when needed and make the place feel welcoming, and there's building maintenance and security so residents stay safe and supported.

The apartments are income restricted, so eligibility depends on someone's income, and there's an application fee of $25 when applying. The facility offers several care types, including assisted living for seniors who need help with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and managing medicine, and there are memory care services for those living with memory conditions. There are meal and dining options with a focus on nutrition, and health care services are available, so residents can get support while living independently or with some assistance. The community has won awards like Best of Senior Living and All-Star awards, but every place has its limits, so it's best to look over the details before deciding.
