    Spacious clean quiet affordable welcoming

I'm very pleased with my choice. My apartment is spacious, clean and quiet in a beautiful, well-kept community with a grocery next door, bus service to shops and a theatre room. The property manager and staff are friendly and attentive, the building is no-smoking and reasonably affordable. I moved in temporarily while I learn the area and liked what I saw - a great, welcoming option.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is positive, with multiple reviewers describing Gardens of Traville as a clean, attractive, and well-managed community. The property is consistently described as neat and smoke-free, with spacious, quiet apartments and pleasant common areas. Several reviewers highlighted on-site amenities such as a theatre room and community spaces, and noted practical conveniences like a grocery store next door and a bus that runs to shopping, which enhance daily life and independence for residents.

Staff and management receive strong praise. Reviewers used terms like friendly, accommodating, and attentive when describing staff interactions; the property manager in particular was singled out as 'awesome' and attentive. That said, there were a few operational concerns: some experienced pre-move-in issues that could have been handled more quickly. Even so, the general tone about management is favorable — staff responsiveness and warmth are clear strengths of the community.

Care and services are an important theme. Multiple reviews note that the community does not offer in-house care services. For prospective residents who require assisted living or on-site medical support, this lack of care programming is a notable limitation and should be confirmed before making decisions. For those seeking independent living with supportive amenities (transportation to shops, social spaces, convenient grocery access), Gardens of Traville appears well suited.

Location and availability produce mixed reactions. Several reviewers praised the location as excellent and convenient, while others felt the community is farther from Washington, DC than they preferred. A few people mentioned unfamiliarity with the surrounding area and the need to learn local routes and services. Availability is another practical concern: at least one reviewer could not view an apartment because of no vacancies, while others noted apartments were available. Prospective residents should check current availability and timelines, as demand may limit immediate move-in options.

Cost impressions are not uniform. Some reviewers called the community affordable and the best choice for them, whereas at least one review described it as expensive. This mixed feedback suggests pricing may vary by unit type, occupancy timing, or individual budgets; prospective residents should request specific pricing and compare what is included in monthly fees.

In summary, Gardens of Traville presents as a well-kept, community-oriented independent living option with strong staff interactions, useful amenities, and convenient local services. Key considerations before choosing this community are the absence of in-house care services, potential availability constraints, location relative to personal needs (especially distance from DC), and variable perceptions of cost. For independent seniors or families prioritizing cleanliness, friendly management, quiet living spaces, and local convenience, Gardens of Traville is frequently described as a favorable or top choice; for those needing on-site medical or personal care, it may not meet requirements without outside arrangements.

    About Gardens of Traville

Gardens of Traville sits at 14431 Traville Gardens Cir in Rockville, MD, and the place serves people aged 62 and older with a range of living options like independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing care, which is helpful if someone needs different kinds of support as they age, and they've also got home care services for folks who want help in their own space. The building, managed by The Franklin Group, has 230 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, all built in 2003, and they've given the units names like Strathmore I or Montrose II, which helps keep things organized, and floor plans run from about 717 to 1199 square feet, so people can pick a size that fits what they want, whether that's a smaller place or one with more room. Each home comes with a washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchens, emergency response systems, and upgraded bathrooms with features like wheelchair accessible showers, so moving around and doing daily tasks gets a bit easier, and all the units, plus common areas, have elevators and safety features for people who need a little extra help getting around.

People here can bring their pets since they allow animals, and the community has both indoor and outdoor common areas, including a hair salon and spaces for social gatherings, which make it easier for folks to meet up, join clubs, or attend devotional services. They provide meals, and seniors get a range of planned activities and offsite trips, with transportation offered, so there's plenty going on each month that gives everyone some structure and a chance to make new friends. Nurses, doctors, and therapists such as podiatrists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists are available, along with nurse and doctor on call, plus there's support for memory care and hospice if needed. You can get help with daily things like bathing or taking medicine, and if someone's needs change, the team can help people age in place.

Gardens of Traville offers personal tours for people who want to see the apartments and common areas firsthand, and for those needing financial help, there's access to possible income-based rent or HUD assistance. There's resident parking, metered utilities, access to public transportation, and internet available near the property, so folks have what they need nearby. The staff stays friendly and trained to help keep things running smoothly, and the property is close to attractions in Rockville, as well as other events in the Chevy Chase/Potomac areas of suburban Washington, DC, so it feels connected without being right in the middle of things. Each apartment is meant to give privacy, comfort, and freedom, and the larger community aims to support a fulfilling, social life, with both the quieter spaces and the busy events calendar there for people to choose what fits their pace and interests.
