    Friendly supportive independent living community

I moved into Sage at Plum Creek and have been very pleased - staff are friendly and helpful, residents are welcoming, and the community feels family-like and supportive. My brand-new, spacious apartment is spotless, maintenance is excellent, and move-in help made settling in easy. There are tons of resident-led activities and great amenities (pool, gym, library, theater, game room, courtyard, dog park, pickleball, grilling areas), and it's independent living with no meals or care included; cost is in line with similar places. Overall a very nice, well-run community that I'd recommend to families.

    Summary of reviews

Sage Plum Creek presents primarily as a new, well-kept independent-living community with extensive lifestyle amenities and a strong resident culture. Reviews emphasize the facility’s contemporary design, clean interiors, and meticulously maintained grounds. Common spaces and recreational offerings are broad—indoor and outdoor fitness facilities, a pool, theater and game rooms, library, pet park, gardens, pickleball courts, cabanas and grilling areas—which together support an active, social lifestyle. Residents and visitors repeatedly describe apartments as spacious with good storage and brand-new finishes.

Staff interactions and community life are recurring strengths. Feedback characterizes staff as friendly, helpful and accommodating, with particular appreciation for move-in assistance and responsiveness during initial adjustment periods. The resident population appears highly engaged: many activities are resident-led, participation is high, and volunteers help plan programming. That dynamic contributes to a consistent sense of community, frequent social opportunities, and a family-like atmosphere.

Care and dining are important caveats. The community operates as independent living only—there are no assisted-living or skilled nursing services provided on site—and there is no included communal meal program. Prospective residents who anticipate needing regular clinical support, assisted transfers, medication management, or institutional dining should plan for external providers or add-on arrangements. Reviews also note that some services or conveniences commonly bundled at other providers (meals, on-site care) are not part of the base offering here.

Management and operational notes: reviewers point to corporate oversight as a factor that can limit local decision-making, which may affect how quickly resident-generated ideas or local adjustments are implemented. Several comments also indicate that, during the community’s opening phase, a few common areas were still unfinished; prospective residents should confirm current completion status and timelines. Cost observations indicate pricing is broadly in line with peer communities, but because meals and care are not included, total monthly cost may vary depending on added services.

Overall suitability: Sage Plum Creek is well suited to active older adults seeking a clean, modern independent-living environment with plentiful amenities and a socially engaged resident community. It is less appropriate for people who require on-site assisted care or who expect an inclusive meal program. Families and prospects should verify which amenities are complete, clarify what is included in base fees, and identify local clinical and dining options if they anticipate needing those services in the future.

    About Sage Plum Creek

Sage Plum Creek is a brand new 55+ active adult apartment community in Kyle, Texas, set within the exclusive Plum Creek Master Community, so folks who live there get plenty of peace and quiet, but they're still close to shopping, restaurants, and central Kyle, and Austin's not too far either, which makes it handy for anyone who still likes to get out and about. The community is filled with stylish, modern apartment homes, and each unit ranges in size, with one-bedroom apartments starting at around 676 sq.ft. and two-bedrooms closer to 894 sq.ft., featuring names such as the "A3 - Charter" and "A4 - Holiday," so there are different layouts to choose from. Inside, apartments come with open-concept designs, chef-inspired kitchens, walk-in closets, oversized vanities, and lots of natural light, which can make everything feel fresh but easy to keep up with.

Residents enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle, and the staff who work on-site seem focused on everyone's well-being, which means help is usually close when you need it, both for the building upkeep and for day-to-day support. Sage Plum Creek tries to keep people as active and connected as they want by setting up daily social events and programs, and the clubhouse, courtyard areas, and swimming pool give people places to gather, relax, have a swim, or sit and visit with friends. There's also a fitness center for those who like to keep moving, plus access to parks nearby for walks and fresh air.

For those who want to do more than relax, Sage Plum Creek holds many events and programs, like Business Over Breakfast and book clubs, and members can find deals and special offers or join business-related programs like the Governor's Small Business Resource Portal and a business expo, if that's what they're after, since some folks like to keep busy with their interests even in retirement. There's even a membership directory and lots of digital resources such as tutorial videos, which means residents can keep meeting new people or learning new things, depending on what they want to do. Apartments start in the $1400s for one-bedrooms and the $2100s for two-bedrooms, and you can see both photos and digital brochures before deciding to schedule a tour, making it easier to get a feel for the place and its floorplans before taking the next step. Amenities are set up for comfort and convenience, with shopping and entertainment close by, and medical services within the community, so everyday needs are pretty well covered. Sage Plum Creek is designed for active adults aged 55 and older who want both independence and an engaging community, with plenty of ways to connect, stay active, or simply enjoy a quiet afternoon near home.
