    Spotless community, friendly staff, pricey

I liked living here. The staff were very nice, the property was spotless (daily cleaning) and well-maintained, and rules were enforced strictly-violators were moved out for valid complaints. My two-bed/ two-bath cottage with a study and attached two-car garage had meals on site, optional paid cleaning, and plenty of activities (games, workouts, Friday music and dancing, mystery book club). It's off the beaten path but close to shopping and restaurants, with only 13 cottages on one street-not as homely, and the price is high, but it met my needs; I moved out for more space and regret it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive, with residents repeatedly praising the physical accommodations, social programming, and staff. The cottages are described as spacious and well laid out (two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a study and the potential for an extra bedroom), with the convenience of an attached two-car garage. The community itself is small and intimate—about 13 cottages on one street—which appears to suit residents who want a close-knit environment. Multiple reviewers explicitly stated the community "meets my needs" and that they "liked living there." The property is also characterized as well-maintained, with at least one reviewer mentioning daily cleaning and others noting cleaning services are available for a fee.

Dining and housekeeping are consistent strengths. An on-site restaurant and meals available within the community provide convenient dining options; some reviewers specifically note the presence of an on-site restaurant. Cleaning services are available (though usually for an additional fee), and at least one resident reported daily cleaning, suggesting a high level of cleanliness and upkeep for many residents. That said, the paid aspect of some housekeeping services is mentioned explicitly and should be a consideration for prospective residents evaluating total cost.

Activities and social life are highlighted as vibrant aspects of the community. Reviewers list a variety of programming including games, workouts, a mystery book club, and a regular Friday night music program with dancing. These offerings indicate an active social calendar and opportunities for residents to engage in both intellectual and physical activities as well as live entertainment and social dancing, supporting a lively community atmosphere.

Staff and management receive favorable comments: staff are described as "very nice" and "upbeat," contributing to a welcoming tone. Management enforcement of community policies is also emphasized; reviewers note a strict policy approach and that management will "kick violators out for valid complaints." For many residents this appears to be a positive attribute because it maintains standards and addresses disruptive behavior—helping preserve the community environment. This strict enforcement may not appeal to everyone, but it is clearly a defining feature and is reported as effective at resolving issues.

Cost and location are the primary concerns. Several reviewers feel the pricing is high, explicitly saying "price too high," and one reviewer indicated a move out was driven by a desire for more space, which suggests space-to-cost trade-offs for some residents. The community is described by some as "off the beaten path," though others note it remains close to restaurants and shopping—indicating that while it may not sit in a central urban location, reasonable amenities and commerce are nearby. One reviewer said the place was "not as homely," implying that certain aspects (perhaps the restaurant-oriented dining or the community layout) felt less residentially cozy to them.

Notable patterns include high overall satisfaction among those who stayed (with particular praise for facilities, activities, staff, and maintenance), balanced by repeated mentions of price sensitivity and occasional concerns about space and homeliness. There is also a pattern of strong management intervention on rule violations, which is consistently reported and generally viewed positively by the reviewers. Together, these themes paint a picture of an active, well-kept, small community with plentiful social programming and helpful staff, suited to residents willing to accept the community’s pricing and the potential trade-offs in location or home size.
