    Highly recommend, clean, caring facility

I placed my loved one here and overall I highly recommend it: a clean, well-maintained, homey facility with private en-suite rooms, home-cooked meals, nice yard and in-house medical support. Amy and the staff are caring, experienced and responsive - I felt comfortable leaving my loved one in their care. A few drawbacks - occasional poor follow-through, unclear staffing ratios/training and some management attitude toward staff - but on balance I'm very satisfied.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive: many reviewers praise Beverly Assisted Living for its home-like environment, cleanliness, and attentive caregiving, while a smaller but significant set of reviews raises serious concerns about inconsistent staffing, training, and management behavior. A majority of summaries emphasize a comfortable, well-kept facility with private, en-suite rooms, accessible layouts, and an attractive outdoor area. Multiple reviewers specifically name staff (notably "Amy") and describe caregivers as patient, knowledgeable, and experienced, with hospice familiarity and equipment competence. Several accounts state that on-call doctors and nurses or in-house medical support are available, and that transport to appointments, housekeeping, and laundry services are provided. Positive notes also include home-cooked, nutritious meals and favorable referrals from placement agencies — many reviewers explicitly say they would recommend the facility or rank it highly.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme among positive reviews is that staff are caring, competent, and responsive. Reviewers frequently describe the team as patient, kind, and thorough; some highlight particular staff members for their professionalism and hospice-related experience. Multiple comments indicate that staff enjoy their jobs and that families feel comfortable leaving loved ones in their care. However, there are contrasting reports that raise red flags: some families allege negligent training, negligent care, and misrepresentation of staff ratios. A few reviews question caregiver certification and point to a lack of knowledgeable staff. One practical staffing detail mentioned is a location operating with one caregiver onsite for a 4–5 bedroom home — this specific scenario is called out as a potential concern, especially if residents have higher-acuity needs.

Facilities and environment: Reviews consistently describe the physical environment positively. Homes are characterized as small, comfortable, clean, and uncluttered, with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms. Accessibility features and well-maintained yards, patios, and BBQ areas are repeatedly praised. The décor is described as bright and cheery in several summaries, and reviewers note that smaller resident counts can allow for more individualized attention.

Dining and activities: Dining receives favorable remarks across many reviews — meals are described as home-cooked and nutritious. Activity reporting is mixed: a number of reviewers report extensive in-house activities, outings, and events that keep clients engaged and thriving, while others explicitly state that no activities are scheduled. This discrepancy suggests variation between homes, shifts, or time periods. Prospective families should consider asking for current activity schedules and observing programming firsthand.

Management and communication: Many reviewers describe owners and management as responsive and supportive, with good communication. At the same time, at least one review mentions owners talking down to staff and being disheartening or inappropriate, and other reviews cite poor follow-through. These contrasting observations point to inconsistent managerial behavior across different interactions or branches.

Costs and policies: Pricing information appears in one review: $2,500/month with an additional $300 reported for a private bathroom, and otherwise no extra costs beyond personal cellphone or possibly internet. Other reviews do not provide detailed pricing, but several state there were no unexpected extra fees. Given the single explicit pricing mention and other mixed service reports, prospective families should confirm current rates, fee structures, and what services are included.

Patterns and recommendation guidance: The review set shows a strong pattern of high satisfaction from many families—particularly praising cleanliness, individualized attention in small homes, compassionate staff, home-like food, and positive placement-agency references. However, the negative reports are substantive: claims of negligent training, caregiver certification concerns, misrepresented staffing ratios, and poor managerial behavior merit careful attention. The mixed nature of the feedback suggests variability between locations, staffing shifts, or over time rather than uniformly reliable performance.

If evaluating Beverly Assisted Living, verify current staffing ratios (including overnight and peak times), ask for proof of caregiver certification and training records, request the most recent activity schedule and examples of outings, confirm on-call medical support arrangements, and get a clear written breakdown of fees and what is included. Also observe staff-resident interactions in person, and, if possible, check references from placement agencies or families who have recent experience with the specific home you are considering. Taken together, the reviews indicate many strengths but also identify real areas to probe further to ensure the facility meets your loved one’s specific needs.
