    Warm attentive certified homelike care

I live here and the staff are warm, attentive, certified, and truly go the extra mile-excellent one-on-one care with low turnover and doctors on emergency call. The home is clean, safe and homelike (secure doors/monitoring), rooms are comfortable (semi-private/shared baths, cable), and meals are delicious home-cooked fare with snacks, baking and social dining. There are regular activities, outings and events (karaoke, annual dinner), pets on site, visitors welcome, reasonable rates, and some outings/transport depend on family.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive: residents and families consistently describe The Frontier House as a clean, home-like small residential facility with warm, attentive staff and high-quality daily care. Frequent mentions of certified caregivers, a compassionate administrator, low staff turnover, and staff who "go the extra mile" indicate a stable team and a culture of personalized, responsive care. Multiple reviews emphasize one-on-one attention, safety, and a comforting environment that feels like home rather than an institutional setting.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers repeatedly highlight excellent and compassionate care. Certified caregivers and an administration team described as caring and responsive are frequent points of praise. The facility is noted for individualized attention and comprehensive daily care, with staff taking steps to accommodate dietary needs and visitor access. The mention of doctors being available on emergency call provides reassurance about urgent medical support, and secure doors and monitoring add to the sense of safety. Low staff turnover is cited as a positive pattern that contributes to continuity of care and stronger relationships between staff, residents, and families.

Facilities and rooms: The physical setting is described as clean, sunny, and handicapped-equipped. Rooms are comfortable and home-like, with amenities such as cable, multiple TVs, and reading materials available. The property’s small size and residential feel—complete with pets (a dog on-site) and even backyard chickens—are repeatedly noted as fostering a homely atmosphere. However, many rooms are semi-private with shared bathrooms; while this supports a small-community model and may help keep rates reasonable, it is also the primary privacy-related concern flagged in reviews.

Dining and food service: Food is a clear strength in the reviewers' eyes. Home-cooked meals with choices, frequent baking (breads and desserts), and the availability of snacks and fresh produce are highlighted. Meals are described as delicious and served in a social dining format that promotes interaction. Staff willingness to make dietary accommodations is also important to families and residents, reinforcing the facility’s individualized approach to meals.

Activities and social life: The Frontier House offers a range of on-site activities and social events, from everyday in-house programs to larger annual events such as a dinner with entertainment and an auction. Regular outings—such as trips to the senior center—add variety, and communal activities like karaoke contribute to a lively atmosphere. That said, reviews note some limitations: a few outings are limited in frequency or scope, and transportation for appointments is generally dependent on family members. These logistical constraints are the main operational drawbacks cited by reviewers.

Management, logistics, and cost: Management and administration receive praise for compassion and responsiveness. Rates are described as reasonable, aligning with expectations for a small residential facility that emphasizes personalized care rather than extensive clinical services. Practical issues to consider include the semi-private room arrangements and the reliance on family for transport to appointments; prospective residents and families should clarify transportation options and room configurations during a tour or inquiry.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The dominant theme is that The Frontier House provides a safe, warm, and highly personal environment with strong staff relationships and excellent home-style dining and activities. It appears particularly well suited for seniors who value a homelike atmosphere, individualized attention, and community-oriented activities. Those prioritizing private bathrooms, frequent off-site outings, or on-site routine medical services may want to ask specific questions or consider alternatives. Overall, the reviews portray The Frontier House as a caring, well-run small facility with many strengths and only a few practical limitations to weigh when making placement decisions.
