    Professional compassionate staff, seamless transition

I placed my dad in this small five-resident home and couldn't be happier. The professional, compassionate staff (Mary especially) treat us like family, communicate promptly, and made the transition seamless. The place is immaculate and comfortable, meals are excellent, air and views are beautiful, holiday events are inviting - my dad is happy and well cared for; highly recommend (more than five stars).

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The review summaries for Sue's Place are uniformly positive. Across the comments, family members and observers repeatedly emphasize a high level of satisfaction and gratitude. Phrases such as “more than five stars,” “perfect place,” and “highly recommended” reflect consistent, enthusiastic endorsement rather than isolated praise.

Care quality and staff: Reviews focus heavily on the quality of caregiving. Staff are described with multiple complimentary adjectives — friendly, caring, compassionate, professional, respectful, and reliable. Several summaries note that transitions into the home were seamless and that loved ones feel happy and well cared for. A specific staff member (Mary) is called out for going above and beyond by “spoiling” residents, which underscores the personalized attention residents receive. Overall, the pattern indicates strong, consistent caregiver performance and an environment where residents’ emotional and physical needs are met with warmth.

Facilities and environment: The physical home is described as immaculate, comfortable, and small (explicitly a five-resident home). Reviewers highlight excellent air quality and a beautiful outdoor view, suggesting both cleanliness and a pleasant setting. The small size repeatedly ties into the descriptions of a family-like atmosphere and personalized care; reviewers treated the intimate scale as a clear positive, contributing to a homelike feeling rather than an institutional one.

Dining and daily living: Dining is a noted strength — multiple summaries state that residents (one referenced as “dad”) love the meals. The “Mary spoils residents” comment also implies individualized attention to culinary preferences or special treats. These remarks suggest a food program that is both appealing to residents and contributes positively to quality of life.

Activities and social life: Activity-related feedback centers on seasonal and holiday programming. Holiday events are explicitly described as “wonderful and inviting,” which indicates staff-driven efforts to create meaningful social experiences and celebrations that contribute to residents’ well-being and family engagement.

Management and communication: Families report responsive and reliable communication, which appears to support trust and satisfaction. The combination of smooth transitions, timely communication, and visible gratitude from families suggests effective management practices and strong family-staff relationships.

Notable patterns and absence of negative feedback: The reviews present a cohesive picture: small size, immaculate setting, excellent care, good food, pleasing environment, and active, compassionate staff. Importantly, there are no negative comments or concerns included in the provided summaries. That absence of criticism in this set of summaries indicates consistently positive experiences among the reviewers reflected here.

Conclusion: Based on these summaries, Sue’s Place is characterized as a highly personalized, well-managed small residential setting where cleanliness, staff warmth and professionalism, appealing meals, pleasant indoor/outdoor environment, and engaging holiday activities combine to produce strong family satisfaction and enthusiastic recommendations. The dominant themes are individualized attention and a family-like culture that makes residents and families feel comfortable, valued, and well cared for.

    About Sue's Place

Sue's Place, operated under Sue's Place, LLC, sits in the Moon Valley neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona, and has an active license-AL9737H, effective since June 1, 2020, and up for renewal on May 31, 2025, which is current as of now, and the facility allows up to 10 residents but only has 5 licensed residents right now, so it isn't a large home, and residents there say you get treated like family, and visitors have mentioned how nice the outdoor view and air quality are as you sit outside or walk the paths, and you might see their garden growing fresh herbs, tomatoes, and strawberries, and inside, you'll find high-quality furnishings, a 75-gallon aquarium bubbling quietly in the common area, and bedrooms ranging from private (each with a lift-chair recliner and private or shared bathrooms) to a shared room option, with private rooms starting at $3,500 and shared rooms at $2,700. Meals are home-cooked with snacks every day, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in a stocked kitchen, and staff prepares all sorts of food like Greek, Italian, American, Mexican, or Chinese meals, and they'll make changes to suit different diets including vegetarian, allergy-sensitive, and diabetes-friendly meals, and if you need three meals plus a snack, that's included as well, and sometimes they have monthly family gatherings and holiday celebrations in the dining room, keeping up a family-oriented and open environment, and pets like dogs are allowed, so there's a bit of company to be had.

Staff at Sue's Place include experienced managers, CNAs, and doctors who provide care around the clock, offering skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and memory care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, or if you need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, medicine, transfers, or mobility, the staff will handle that, and you'll see them responding quickly if someone has questions or needs something, and if you need medication given at certain times or blood sugar checked, or just a little help with your walker, they've got you covered, and someone's always there for 24-hour supervision. Residents can also get help from hospice, home health services, or therapists-they even bring some mobile services to the house, like podiatrists, x-rays, blood work, or pharmacy deliveries if needed, and mobile physicians make visits.

You get board and care services in a house remodeled for safety and comfort with alarms, security cameras inside and outside, and the place is set up for wheelchairs, walkers, power scooters, and things like Hoyer lifts, so all sorts of medical needs are accommodated, and respite care is available both short-term by the day or longer by the month. Social life includes movie nights, activities scheduled daily, exercise sessions, devotional opportunities, community outings, as well as body strengthening exercises adapted for different needs, music therapy, pet therapy, arts and crafts, and gardening, so there's something going on most of the time. The home does its best to keep everyone engaged physically, socially, and emotionally, and the emergency alert system plus regular health checks aim to keep everyone safe, and showers and all linens or comforters are provided and kept clean with regular housekeeping and daily laundry so nothing gets overlooked.

Payment options accepted include private pay, Long Term Care Insurance, and VA benefits. There's independent living for those who want it, with assistance for activities of daily living, medication management, or help with transfers, so care levels can be adjusted as needed. Sue's Place doesn't have a video tour available for online viewing, but those who visit in person find a calm, homelike setting where residents' health and dignity are respected above all. If you're looking for a smaller, family-focused assisted living home that combines security, personal attention, and a wide selection of care services, Sue's Place continues to serve seniors in Phoenix with attention to both comfort and care.
