    Beautiful, spotless, home-like, attentive staff

I toured and ultimately chose this community for my husband and I'm very pleased. The facility is beautiful, spotless, and feels warm and home-like; apartments are spacious and well-equipped with large kitchens and balcony options. Staff - especially Adria - are attentive, compassionate, and responsive with strong 24/7 care, quick call responses, and regular check-ins. Meals are good, there are plenty of activities and outings, handy transportation, and thoughtful safety features like a smartwatch, so I'd happily recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Solterra at White Mountains One presents as a well-maintained, apartment-style senior community with strong emphasis on resident comfort, safety, and social engagement. The three-story campus features attractive mountain views, private balconies, and a mix of floorplans ranging from studios to larger two-bedroom units. Common areas, outdoor courtyards, and pet-friendly walkways are consistently described as clean and cared for, and building accessibility features and in-unit accommodations support residents with mobility needs.

Clinical and personal care resources are a clear strength. The community staffs on-site RNs and LPNs and employs certified caregivers; reviewers emphasize responsive caregiving, quick call-button responses, regular check-ins, and a generally compassionate approach to both routine and end-of-life care. Hospice services are provided with attention to dignity. Families and residents also describe accessible management and an executive director who communicates updates and handles concerns in a timely manner.

Dining at Solterra is centered on restaurant-style service with three meals daily and options to order a la carte. Menus include diabetes-friendly choices and staff adapted meal delivery during constrained circumstances. While many find the food nourishing and the dining room pleasant, reviewers note variability in meal quality between different chefs and occasional slow service during meal times. Several operational details require attention: some services (transportation, certain cleanings, or premium meal options) involve extra charges, and apartment amenities can differ by unit—some layouts include dens rather than true second bedrooms and in-unit appliance sets vary.

The activity program is broad and social, covering exercise classes, games, live music, special events (cookouts, holidays, Oktoberfest), and opportunities to join clubs or use spaces such as a library, activity room, and dance floor. Residents report that these offerings help foster friendships and an engaged community, though a few reviewers wished for greater variety in programming at times.

Overall patterns show a community with strong caregiving, clean and attractive facilities, and a lively set of social and amenity features. Operational trade-offs include variability in dining experience, differential pricing for premium units and add-on services, and inconsistent in-unit amenities across floorplans. Prospective residents should weigh the community’s supportive staffing and social environment against these service- and amenity-related variations when comparing plans and apartment choices.

About Solterra at White Mountains One

Solterra At White Mountains One serves seniors in Show Low and Lakeside, Arizona, offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The community has staff on-site day and night to help with daily activities, medication, and health monitoring, and they have a 24-hour call system in place. Each resident can live in a private room with a bathroom, and there's housekeeping and laundry done regularly. There are walking trails, gardens, patios, and places to sit and relax like ponds and community spaces, plus a library, movie nights, a beauty salon, and a barber. The community allows cats and dogs, and pets are welcome as part of daily life. The staff plans plenty of activities and field trips, and there's an arts room and spaces set up for games like pickleball and horseshoes.

Seniors have choices for their care, so they can move in if they want independence or need more support with tasks like bathing, dressing, or moving around. There's special help for those with dementia and Alzheimer's, so wandering and confusion are less likely, and there are full-time activity directors and memory care programs to help keep residents engaged. Meals are nutritious-meal planners and chefs make dishes that suit different needs, including for those who have allergies or diabetes, and there's restaurant-style dining available all day. Wi-Fi is included, and rooms are furnished and include telephones. The community is designed to be accessible for people with disabilities.

People who are caring for loved ones at home can get help, too, through services like respite care for when a caregiver needs a break or adult day care for daytime support. Home care's available, where trained aides can visit a senior's own house and provide non-medical help and companionship, and there's even a residential family care home for a smaller community setting. Long-term skilled nursing, hospice, and in-home health options are all part of the services offered. The community supports active living but also has skilled nursing and hospice care for those who need more medical support as health needs change. Summit Healthcare hospital nearby offers cardiac care, a surgery center, and a unit for seniors with cognitive challenges. Solterra At White Mountains One is managed by Solterra Companies and doesn't share awards or ratings for this location publicly, but does have an official website and contact form for questions.
