    Mom thriving with excellent care

I'm so glad we chose this place - my mom is doing amazingly well, more independent and walking, with PT/OT twice a week and excellent doctor oversight and medication adjustments. The staff (especially Nikki) and owner/manager are caring, professional and responsive 24/7, homes are spotless and comfortable, meals are tasty and varied, and communication with our family has been great. It's also lower cost with no add-ons, was the closest to us, and A Place for Mom made the placement easy.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing excellent support during the placement process and ongoing, attentive care. Several summaries highlight that staff — particularly with leadership referenced by name (Nikki) — are caring, professional, and responsive. Reviewers repeatedly note effective communication with family members and quick responsiveness to resident needs. The owner/manager receives specific praise, described as compassionate and well-liked, which contributes to a perception of engaged management.

Care quality is a central strength according to the reviews. Residents are reported to be doing well after placement: independence and mobility improved, walking increased, and formal therapies are provided on a regular schedule (physical therapy twice a week and occupational therapy twice a week). Medical oversight is present, with a doctor involved in medication adjustments and overall clinical care. Emotional support is also mentioned, indicating attention to psychosocial as well as physical needs.

Staffing and team dynamics are presented positively in multiple summaries: a 24-hour care team is in place, staff are described as well trained, patient, accommodating, and compassionate. These attributes appear to translate into strong family communication and confidence in daily care. However, there is a single note of concern where one reviewer felt staff seemed uninterested; this suggests there may be occasional variability in engagement or that experiences can differ by staff member or shift.

Facilities and dining receive consistent praise. Homes are described as spotless and comfortable, and the food is characterized as appealing with a diverse menu. Several reviewers specifically say the meals improved after placement, which can be an important quality-of-life factor. Clean, home-like environments combined with good dining options support the overall favorable impressions.

Cost and administrative matters are mentioned as positives and a minor negative. One reviewer explicitly notes a lower cost with no add-on fees, which was appreciated. Conversely, one review mentions a requirement to pay the first month's rent to A Place for Mom, which could indicate an awkward or nonstandard payment/placement intermediary requirement; this was only raised once but is worth noting for families to clarify during placement.

In summary, the dominant themes are strong, compassionate care; effective medical and therapy services; clean, comfortable living spaces; good dining; and proactive, communicative management. The few concerns are limited: an isolated report of staff appearing uninterested and a single note about a payment routing through A Place for Mom. Families considering Love and Care II Assisted Living should expect hands-on, medically attentive staff, regular therapy services, and a generally supportive environment, while confirming specifics about billing/payment processes and speaking with multiple staff members to gauge consistency of engagement across shifts.

For daily life, the community puts together activities like card games, small celebrations, live entertainment, and group events to keep everyone involved and engaged. The building has common indoor areas for socializing, and there are outdoor spaces that are nicely landscaped so residents can sit outside, enjoy the weather, and spend time together or relax alone. The environment tries to be positive and encouraging, and people are invited to join in as much or as little as they like; both privacy and participation can fit into a regular day here. The place is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, holds an A+ BBB rating, and has a reputation for honesty and a true sense of home.
