    Homey facility with caring staff

I'm so grateful we chose this small, homey facility - the staff are kind, competent and genuinely caring, and the hands-on owner knows every resident by name. My mom's mobility improved, she's well-fed with home-cooked meals, and the house is spotless, bright and peaceful. Communication is excellent (regular texts, photos and updates), COVID safety and medical coordination are proactive, and activities/transportation are reliable. I have real peace of mind and would highly recommend it.

About Ventura County Senior Care: Ocean Breeze Estates at Blue Oak

Ventura County Senior Care: Ocean Breeze Estates at Blue Oak is a small, residential care home in Camarillo for seniors over age 65 needing help with daily living, assisted living, or memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia. The home's part of a group of four independent, licensed facilities in Ventura County, each housing up to six residents in private or shared rooms for a cozy setting, with both furnished and outdoor spaces available. Staff are around all day and night, ready to help with medication reminders, bathing, dressing, meals, and safety checks, while an on-call administrator named Georgia makes sure residents' preferences and happiness get attention. There's a focus on keeping things calm and safe, especially for those who have trouble remembering, with programs designed to reduce confusion and prevent wandering, and lots of attention to memory care needs. Meals get prepared onsite every day, with snacks, flexible dining times, and attention to special diets like low salt or vegetarian. Seniors can expect activities - from arts and crafts and holiday events to gentle exercise and gardening in a big backyard - plus Wi-Fi, cable TV, and a garden patio for fresh air. Weekly housekeeping, laundry, and incontinence care are provided. Appointments and transportation for shopping and doctor's visits happen Monday through Friday during the day, and both in-house hair stylist and podiatrist services are available. Staff speak English, Spanish, and Tagalog, and they're trained in areas like safety, memory care, and chronic diseases. Safety checks and supervision come standard. Residents can't bring pets, but they often build strong friendships with staff and each other. Some payment options include private pay, long-term care insurance, and checks. The home is in a quiet Camarillo neighborhood with fresh air and lots of sun, known for its friendly, nurturing atmosphere, and earned the 2025 Best of Senior Living Award from Seniorly, where it holds a community score of 8.4. The house is smoke-free and fully licensed by the state of California, License #565850073.
