    Caring staff, clean but pricey

I moved my parent here and overall I'm glad they're well cared for. Staff are warm, affectionate and attentive, meals are good, it's clean, and there's regular music/entertainment that residents enjoy. Rooms and bathrooms vary (some private with large showers, others small or hallway baths), and the place can feel a bit institutional at times. It's not new or fancy, not close to shopping, activities are limited for some, and it's on the pricey side-fine for mild needs but not suitable for more advanced dementia.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is broadly positive with a strong emphasis on warm, home-like care delivered by friendly, affectionate staff. Many reviewers highlight that staff are attentive, accommodating, and provide personalized attention; families report that residents are clean, comfortable, fed, and receive the daily care they need. Multiple mentions of staff-driven events — anniversary celebrations and music/entertainment programs — reinforce the sense that the community prioritizes personal connection and resident enjoyment. Several reviewers point to specific strengths such as good meals, a pleasant dining room, and a reasonably clean, comfortable environment.

Care quality and staffing receive consistent praise. The dominant theme is that staff are caring and provide individualized attention; reviewers used words such as warm, homey, and affectionate. There are multiple reports that family members feel their loved ones are doing well and receiving the level of attention they need. That said, some reviewers characterize the care as basic — adequate for daily comfort and safety but not highly clinical — and one or more reviewers express a 'warehousing' concern, suggesting that for residents with higher medical or dementia needs the facility may feel impersonal or insufficiently resourced.

Facilities and accommodations are described as clean and comfortable but not upscale. Several reviewers note that the building is not new or fancy, which aligns with the consistently reported home-like feeling rather than a luxury environment. There is variation in room quality: some residents have private, spacious rooms with large bathrooms and good showers, which are cited as a clear positive, while others report small or shared rooms and bathrooms located in hallways. There is no exercise room, and the facility may be physically smaller than some competitors, which matters for families seeking a broader range of amenities or larger common spaces. The outdoor gazebo and familiar neighborhood are cited as pleasant features.

Dining and activities are strengths for many families. Reviewers praise the food and note that the dining room seems nice; community events such as music programs, karaoke, luaus, and special celebrations like anniversaries are regularly mentioned and appear to contribute strongly to resident satisfaction. At the same time, several reviewers note that activities can be limited due to restrictions (not further specified in the summaries), and some desire a larger facility with more social interaction than this location provides.

Management, cost, and fit are recurring themes with mixed views. Some reviewers describe the community as a good value, especially given the quality of personal attention and the home-like environment. Others find it expensive or 'too much money' for what is offered, and financial constraints factor into family decisions. A notable pattern is the issue of fit: reviewers consistently stress that this facility is a good fit for residents who need basic, personal care and companionship but is not appropriate for those with more advanced dementia or higher medical needs. Location is a practical downside for some — it is not close to shopping — and the smaller scale means it may lack the breadth of social programming available in larger communities.

In summary, Princess Lodge appears to be a warm, well-staffed, and homey community that excels at providing affectionate, personalized daily care, social entertainment, and a comfortable dining experience. It is especially well-suited for residents who value close staff relationships and a quieter, homelike setting. However, it is not a luxury facility, some rooms are small or have shared/bathroom-in-hall configurations, and it may not meet the needs of residents requiring advanced memory care or more clinical support. Cost perceptions vary: some see it as good value, others as expensive for the level of service and amenities. Prospective residents should weigh the strong staff-driven, home-like culture against limitations in space, clinical resources, and location when deciding if Princess Lodge is the right fit.

    About Princess Lodge

Princess Lodge has a smaller, home-like setting with both studio and semi-private rooms, so residents can choose what fits them best, and people can be either male or female, bringing pets if they have them, which some places don't always allow, and the staff really tries to help everyone feel comfortable by offering aging in place, which means a senior doesn't have to move even as their needs change. The grounds have walking paths, a trellis-covered patio, and a gazebo, so folks can get fresh air or visit with family and friends, while indoors there's always somewhere to sit and chat or join in on an activity, including movie nights, arts, a library for quiet reading, and a hobby room for hands-on minds, plus devoted areas for memory support for those needing special help with dementia or Alzheimer's, which is something people look for when their family wants to keep everyone together, even if someone's needs are different. The staff includes nurses and visiting health professionals like doctors, dentists, podiatrists, physical therapists, and speech and occupational therapists, so everyone's care stays up to date, and the owners make regular visits because they're licensed nurses themselves, caring about details and seeing if everything's all right. Staff stay awake all night, so help is always on hand, using mechanical lifts and helping with meds, incontinence, and all those daily things like dressing and bathing if someone needs it, and they support diabetic care, but with the request that folks manage their own insulin and blood sugar checks unless they need reminders. Princess Lodge has services like respite care if somebody needs a short stay, as well as hospice support if that's needed later on, and weekly communion and other devotional programs for spiritual needs, all run by an Activities Director who makes sure events, outings, cook-outs, and even birthdays get celebrated. Meals come restaurant-style with choices for allergies and diabetes, and the staff helps with nutrition planning, plus there's laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, and telephone access in every room, and people set up meals to suit diets. The memory care area has its own secure building and can accept residents who have major behavior issues, while everybody gets access to the rest of the amenities, from sun-soaked patios to community-sponsored activities, and everybody's welcome to bring their pets, as long as they can help take care of them. Smoking's not allowed indoors or in any rooms. Princess Lodge has a connected, familial feeling, thanks to the staff-to-resident ratio and cheerful, attentive staff, and because it's a medium-sized community run by the Elder Lodging group where the focus stays on treating people with dignity and respect in a relaxed, social, and lively place for seniors who want support while enjoying as much freedom as possible, and folks can reach out and ask questions through social media messaging tools like Messenger or Instagram Threads if that's easier for them or their families.
