    Excellent compassionate short-term rehab care

I stayed here for short-term rehab after surgery and was very satisfied. The staff - nurses, CNAs, therapists and admissions - were genuinely caring, responsive and went above and beyond; therapy was outstanding and my mobility improved quickly. My room was light and airy, the remodeled facility was clean with beautiful views, and communication around insurance and discharge was handled smoothly. I felt safe, well cared for, and would recommend this center for high-quality, compassionate rehab and nursing care.

    Summary of reviews

Cypress Ridge Care Center receives broadly mixed feedback across several domains. Positive comments emphasize a strong rehabilitation focus: the facility routinely draws praise for its physical and occupational therapy teams, motivating therapists, and measurable short-term rehab outcomes. Many families and patients describe attentive nursing and CNA care, thoughtful social-services/admissions support, coordinated discharges, and successful transitions back to the community. The building and grounds — including a recently renovated north wing and scenic outdoor areas — are frequently described as attractive and welcoming.

Staff performance is a central pattern. Numerous accounts highlight compassionate, hardworking caregivers, prompt front-desk intake, and social-worker involvement; multiple reviewers credited specific staff members for good coordination and support. At the same time, other accounts describe operational gaps: inconsistent staffing levels (notably overnight), delayed responses to call lights, and uneven personal-care practices. Several reviews indicate trainee or inexperienced staff on duty at times, suggesting variable supervision and training consistency. These staffing and training fluctuations are associated with reviewers' concerns about resident responsiveness, safety during transfers, and incident follow-up.

Dining and activities present a mixed picture. The activity schedule, therapy gym, cognitive puzzles, and group offerings are viewed positively and contribute to a home-like environment. Food quality receives variable assessments — some reviewers find meals quite good, while others note cold food, occasional hallway service, or a desire for fresher produce. Therapy-space capacity can become constrained during busy periods, which may limit scheduling flexibility for some patients.

Management and administrative communication are also areas of divergence. Many reviewers praised admissions and social-work staff for responsive support and smooth coordination, and some cited visible nursing leadership. Conversely, others described limited administrator visibility, a closed-door administrative stance, and communication shortfalls with families. Operational concerns include records-transfer delays, billing discrepancies, and gaps in clinical-incident documentation and family notification. A small set of serious allegations — including missing personal items and specific safety incidents — were raised; these items underscore the importance of reviewing the facility’s incident reporting, property-handling, and safety policies during a tour.

Overall, Cypress Ridge offers a strong rehabilitation-oriented program in an attractive facility with many dedicated staff members. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s therapy strengths and attractive environment against reported variability in staffing, training, documentation, and meal-service consistency. When evaluating the facility in person, consider asking for recent staffing ratios (including nights), sample therapy schedules, incident-reporting procedures, property-management policies, how billing and records transfers are handled, and recent inspection or ombudsman follow-up to clarify how the facility addresses the operational concerns noted by some families.
