    Bright clean caring home trustworthy

I placed my dad at Rose Garden and I'm consistently impressed: the brand-new, bright, odor-free home is immaculately clean, cozy and thoughtfully decorated with plants, art and even Himalayan salt lamps. Ting, the administrator and caregiving team (and therapy dog Wolfie) provided warm, one-on-one, personalized care-excellent communication, 24-hour attention, hospice support when needed, good meals and roomy private rooms-so he was calm, well cared for and happier. It's a loving, home-like place I trust, though it can be pricey.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across these reviews is strongly positive, with multiple families emphasizing compassionate, personalized care in a clean, home-like environment. Recurring praise centers on the staff and leadership — reviewers repeatedly name Ting and other members of management as caring, thoughtful, and experienced. Many comments highlight a generous caregiver-to-resident ratio and 24-hour attention, and several families describe dramatic improvements in residents' wellbeing after moving to The Rose Garden Elderly Care. The facility's focus on individualized, one-on-one care and strong communication with families are consistent themes that contribute to high levels of trust and satisfaction.

Facility cleanliness and atmosphere are prominent strengths. Multiple reviewers describe the facility as immaculately clean, odor-free, bright, and cheerful, noting home-like touches such as fresh flowers, plants, art, Himalayan salt lamps, and new furniture. The building is described as all-new construction and recently opened, which supports the consistent comments about fresh, modern rooms and communal spaces. Rooms are described as cozy and comfortable, with private room options and TVs in every room; common areas include large front-room TVs and a sizable back patio that provides outdoor space for residents and visitors.

Clinical services and scope of care receive strong positive mentions. The Rose Garden is frequently commended for offering a wide range of care, including hospice, dementia, cancer, and stroke care, with hospice nurses and aides present and med-management described as life-changing by at least one family. Reviewers praise the facility's ability to fulfill dietary requests and provide individually prepared dinners, and note good day-to-day responsiveness from caregivers to ensure residents are clean, fed, and comfortable. Several families reported improved behavior and greater calm and contentment in their loved ones after arrival.

Community life, activities, and family engagement are highlighted but show some variation in perception. Many reviewers appreciate thoughtful activities such as neighborhood walks, interpersonal one-on-one exercises, and social events like holiday open houses and birthday parties. The facility is noted for having ample community space and a welcoming environment for visitors and family gatherings. However, a few reviews raise concerns that the atmosphere can feel less lively or ‘‘depressing’’ to some, and a couple of family members reported not witnessing many activities or felt that hospice staff handled the majority of clinical interactions. This suggests that activity programming and visibility of day-to-day engagement may vary depending on timing or individual expectations.

Concerns and negative experiences are relatively limited but important. A serious outlier describes understaffing at a prior or possibly the same facility visit, leaving a resident in bed all day and prompting a move — this reviewer explicitly did not recommend the home. While most reviews contradict this and praise staffing levels and responsiveness, that single negative account indicates staffing and consistency should be monitored. Cost is another recurring concern; some families describe the facility as pricey. The outdoor patio, while large, was noted to have little shade and reviewers suggested adding soft patio chairs and umbrellas to improve comfort.

In summary, The Rose Garden Elderly Care is portrayed across reviews as a clean, well-managed, and compassionate small facility that emphasizes personalized care, strong family communication, and a home-like environment. Strengths include experienced leadership, attentive caregiving (including hospice support), good meals that meet dietary needs, and meaningful family-oriented programming. Potential areas for improvement are ensuring consistent activity engagement and staff coverage at all times, addressing patio comfort and shade, and being mindful of cost perceptions. Families considering the Rose Garden should weigh these generally favorable reports about individualized care and cleanliness against the isolated concerns about staffing consistency and pricing.

About The Rose Garden Elderly Care

The Rose Garden Elderly Care sits in north San Jose and gives seniors a cozy, clean, and fresh environment in a newly renovated home that looks well-kept and feels like a family house, and even though the place isn't very big, with room for six residents, people seem to appreciate the small, family-style setup, where everyone gets more attention and care, and you see friendly staff always around, with a 1:2 caregiver-to-resident ratio during the daytime and about 1:3 at other times, which means help is always ready when you need it, no matter the hour. The living room has a large 80-inch TV and comfortable leather lift chairs, and the dining room brings in lots of natural light from a skylight, so people can gather for meals and activities in a bright space, while the sunroom gives a nice spot for families to visit or just to sit quietly. You can choose either private or semi-private rooms, and every resident gets three meals a day, with housekeeping and personal care included, while there's also a 24-hour call system for when someone needs extra help. This community looks after seniors who need assistance with all sorts of things, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, or challenges after strokes or paralysis, and they'll help people who need total care, respite care, special needs care, and hospice support, even those with behavioral issues or late-stage dementia, and if a resident's on hospice, they'll even care for folks who need G-tube support or colostomy or ileostomy help. Medication management and working with outside healthcare providers is standard, and residents can join in group activities, enjoy outings to nearby places like Starbucks or Pho Kim Long, and get out to essentials nearby, such as Walgreens and Carbon Health. Holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas often see community celebrations, and the review scores are strong, with people repeatedly noting the cleanliness, the way staff care for residents, the quality of meals, and friendliness. The home keeps a focus on safety with fall prevention alarms, and residents always have supervision. The Rose Garden Elderly Care is licensed in California (License #435202869) and is listed as an assisted living community, but services cover assisted living, memory care, independent living, skilled nursing, care homes, and more, fitting a range of senior needs, and for families seeking options, there's access to a free advisor to help sort out what's best. The facility offers a peaceful, maintenance-free setting, and creates a nice atmosphere for people who want to age in comfort, have their needs met quickly, and get the sort of personalized attention that comes with a small, home-like place.
