    Peaceful, caring, family like facility

I feel completely at peace knowing my mom is well cared for - the staff are friendly, caring, and available 24/7 with excellent communication and a real family-like approach. Visits are always accommodated (I can see her through the window/door), they take her for walks and to church, and the place is welcoming and safe. She has a private room and bathroom (tiny and sink not installed yet), but overall I'm very happy with everything.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing high-quality, attentive caregiving and a safe, welcoming environment. Care delivery is described as a standout feature: residents are "well taken care of," staff provide "peace of mind" for families, and there is 24-hour coverage so someone is "always with resident." Safety and security for family members are called out explicitly, and the facility’s communication with families is characterized as excellent and responsive.

Staff quality and interpersonal aspects are prominent themes. Reviewers repeatedly describe staff as friendly, caring, accommodating, and helpful. Concrete examples given include staff taking residents for walks and to church and making space for families to grieve, indicating that staff engagement goes beyond basic tasks into emotional and social support. Families say they are treated well and that visits are made easy and flexible; the ability to see a loved one through a window or door was cited as an appreciated option, and reviewers noted that staff accommodate visits and provide ongoing communication, which contributes to family confidence in the care their relatives receive.

Facility and room-level details are generally positive but include a specific, recurring concern about bathroom size and completion. Several reviewers mention private rooms with their own bathrooms, which is a distinct advantage. However, at least one reviewer described the bathroom as "tiny," and another noted that a sink had not yet been installed. These are concrete, verifiable issues that could affect comfort and accessibility for some residents and may warrant follow-up to confirm whether fixtures have been completed or if alternative room options exist.

Areas that receive less commentary in the provided reviews include dining quality, medical management beyond general caregiving, and formal activity programming beyond examples like walks and church. The reviews highlight some social and spiritual engagement (walks, church) but do not provide detailed information about meal quality, therapy services, or administrative matters such as billing or long-term care planning. Given the consistently strong praise for staff and safety, prospective families should still ask direct questions about those less-mentioned areas when evaluating the facility.

In summary, the dominant patterns in these reviews are exceptional personal care, strong safety measures, excellent family communication, and a supportive, compassionate staff culture that attends to residents' social and emotional needs. The facility offers private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, but prospective residents and families should verify bathroom size and whether any outstanding maintenance (for example, a missing sink) has been completed. The positive remarks about 24-hour presence and accommodating visitation practices suggest a high level of day-to-day attentiveness; however, because the reviews do not address dining, clinical care details, or broader programming in depth, those topics should be explored directly with the facility if they are important decision factors.

About St Anne's Home for Elderly

St Anne's Home for Elderly in Sunnyvale, California, is a small, licensed residential care home with room for up to six residents, and folks around here also call places like this Adult Foster Homes or Personal Care Homes depending on what state they're in, but here it's just called an assisted living home. This home sits in a quiet neighborhood close to parks and shopping, with a big yard where residents can get fresh air, and it offers long-term care for older people who need help with things like bathing, dressing, medication reminders, and getting around, but don't require nursing home or hospital care. Caregivers help with cooking, laundry, cleaning, and organizing daily activities, and the kitchen staff prepares home-cooked meals to fit special diets, like for folks with diabetes or food allergies, and every meal is served in the dining room or in rooms if folks can't make it out.

The facility has both private and semi-private rooms with Wi-Fi and phone hookups, and every room is set up to be comfortable and familiar. Residents can bring their pets since it's a pet-friendly place, but there's no smoking allowed inside at all. There are gardens outside, walking paths, and both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces where people can play games, watch movies, or visit with family and friends, and there's even on-site beauty salon services if someone likes to get a haircut now and then. There are board games, planned social outings to places in the area and activities like movie nights and devotional services, and the staff speaks English and Filipino, so folks from different backgrounds can feel at home.

Trained staff provide care around the clock, helping with personal hygiene, medication management including insulin monitoring for those who need it, and also making sure people get up safely, move around, and have what they need. There's always a nurse or doctor on call and therapists come to visit when needed-physical therapy and occupational therapy are both available in the home, and the staff works with each resident's healthcare provider to set up and follow care plans. The facility's licensed but doesn't take Medicare, so the cost is out of pocket, usually around $4,800 a month though it varies if you want a private or semi-private room.

Respite care is available, and folks recovering from illness or families who need a break can use that service for short stays. Safety is a priority with features like emergency alert systems throughout, wheelchair-accessible showers, and 24-hour supervision to support seniors who need more help, even those with dementia or Alzheimer's, who get a little extra attention to help prevent wandering and confusion. The community is small and home-like, so each person gets personal attention, and the whole place feels more like a close-knit family than a big institution. Residents here come from all backgrounds, both men and women, and the staff tries to treat everyone with dignity and the freedom to make their own choices each day. Parking is available for residents, there's transportation for medical appointments or outings, and laundry and linen service happen every week. People in the community often say the place has a warm, friendly feel, and reviews put St Anne's Home for Elderly at 4.5 stars, which says a lot from folks who've lived there.
