    Immaculate homey care; phenomenal meals

My mom has been here a year and I'm extremely happy - the house is immaculate, quiet and homey, the staff (Dee, Ali and the caregivers) are nonstop, attentive and caring, and Ditas's fresh, healthy meals are phenomenal. It's an intimate, pleasant setting with included activities, regular walks and a warm, hands-on administration; our family feels lucky she's here. Caveats: some rooms are plain, carpets could use attention, there are several steps to the porch, it can feel a bit gloomy/hospital-like at times, and it isn't the cheapest. I recommend it with those caveats.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. The most consistent themes are excellent, attentive caregiving, a very clean and well-maintained home, and high praise for the dining program. Multiple reviewers emphasize that managers and caregivers are hands-on, nonstop, and genuinely caring; family members repeatedly say their relatives are happy, well looked-after, and that they feel lucky with the placement. Several reviewers singled out individual staff (including the cook, Ditas, and staff members Dee and Ali) as exceptional, and commenters often described administrators and the director as supportive and informative.

Care quality and staffing are standout strengths. Reviews repeatedly note caregivers trying to please residents, providing personal attention, and maintaining a warm, loving atmosphere. The environment is described as intimate and home-like rather than institutional by many families; staff are characterized as friendly, caring, and engaged. This is reinforced by frequent statements that the house is immaculate and that staff demonstrate genuine concern for residents’ well‑being.

Dining receives especially positive attention. Multiple reviewers contrast the meals with frozen or institutional food, praising fresh, healthy, and delicious meals with one cook named repeatedly as an asset. Meals are noted as included, and families report satisfaction with portion, quality, and variety. The presence of regular walks and group activities (karaoke and other programs) is cited by several families as enhancing residents’ daily life.

Facilities and atmosphere draw mixed commentary. Many reviewers praise the cleanliness and intimate scale of the home, but some raise concerns about the feel of the facility. A few reviewers describe a hospital‑like or gloomy atmosphere and say the house lacks sufficient natural light or sunshine. Physical issues mentioned include carpet concerns, plain room décor, and steps to the front porch that could limit accessibility. The facility’s quiet, calm environment is a positive for some residents but may make it less suitable for families seeking a very bright, highly active setting.

Activities and programming show some variability. Several reviews highlight regular walks, karaoke, and social engagement, while a smaller number report a lack of activities or wish for more programming. This suggests activity levels may differ by time, expectations, or individual resident needs, and prospective families should clarify current activity schedules if that is a priority.

Price and fit considerations are the primary practical caveats. A recurring concern is cost—some reviewers felt pricing was high—which may affect whether the home is a feasible option for all families. A few reviewers explicitly said the home was not the right fit for them, indicating that while the home excels at intimate, attentive care, it may not match every resident’s preferences (for example, those wanting a very bright, very active, or more institutional setting). One or two negative remarks were characterized by other reviewers as outlier complaints or the result of unrealistic expectations; overall the negative comments are far fewer than the positive ones, but they are real and useful for prospective residents to consider.

In summary, An Everlasting Spring appears to be a small, well-kept residence that consistently delivers attentive, personalized caregiving, strong meal service, and a warm staff culture that families appreciate. It is especially well suited to people who value cleanliness, hands-on staff, home-like intimacy, and high-quality fresh meals. Prospective residents and families should weigh the trade-offs: ask about current activity programming, daylight and room options, accessibility (steps), carpeting, and exact cost to ensure it matches their needs. The overall pattern of reviews indicates a high level of family satisfaction with a few legitimate concerns about atmosphere, activity levels, accessibility, and price that deserve direct inquiry during a visit.

    About An Everlasting Spring

An Everlasting Spring is a small senior living community in Thousand Oaks, California, where everything feels like a regular home, with houses set in quiet neighborhoods and friendly, caring staff around all day and night. The place has four homes, each with space for up to six residents, and offers different room types like private bedrooms with or without bathrooms and one shared bedroom, so people can have what fits them best, and each room feels neat and organized. Seniors here get help with daily tasks like getting dressed, bathing, or moving around, and the staff handles medications and keeps track of each resident's needs, especially since there are licensed nurses and administrators always present who check how much help someone needs and adjust the care to fit.

There's always someone looking out for everyone, with 24-hour supervision and more caregivers on site than most places have, which adds to the comfortable feeling the homes give, and the caregivers and nurses meet with family and doctors as needed to make a proper plan for each person. The homes are clean, laundry gets done both by staff and through laundry rooms, maintenance and housekeeping are taken care of, and people get between one and two healthy meals each day, cooked with good-quality ingredients. For those who enjoy company, there are group or solo activities along with wellness programs, and there's even massage therapy, energy healing, and mindfulness practices to help people relax and feel refreshed.

Memory care and dementia care are important here, with special attention for residents with Alzheimer's or other types of memory loss, and the setup includes safeguards to prevent wandering and provide a steady, calm environment that's not confusing or overwhelming. Pets are allowed as part of the everyday setting, which many people enjoy, while the environment stays smoke-free inside, in both private rooms and the common spaces.

The community accepts people who are ambulatory, non-ambulatory, or in hospice, and hospice care is provided with care and respect, always sticking to each person's comfort and needs. Transportation services are available at no extra cost, making it easier for residents to get out to appointments or to visit with friends. While the staff is attentive and known for being helpful, the setting is calm and steady with a warm sense of belonging, rather than crowded or noisy, and residents and their families appreciate the personal approach and high-quality care that comes from having experienced administrators and well-trained staff working with each person. An Everlasting Spring stands out for being small, home-like, and focused on providing steady care in a gentle way for older adults who want some extra help in daily living.
