    Warm attentive staff, excellent care

I'm glad I chose this facility for my mom. The staff are warm, attentive and skilled-nurses and PT/OT helped her regain mobility-and the place is immaculate, safe, and home-like with a lovely garden, private rooms, engaging activities and surprisingly delicious meals. I felt real peace of mind and would recommend it; overall excellent care with a little room to improve.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews paint a mixed but clear pattern: Manor Pines is frequently praised for rehabilitation services, a well-maintained environment, engaging programming, and many caring employees, while also showing recurring operational weaknesses in nursing continuity, medication processes, and family communication. Prospective residents and families will find strong therapy resources and a pleasant campus atmosphere, but should also probe clinical and administrative processes during tours.

Care quality and clinical operations: The facility's rehabilitation offerings (physical and occupational therapy) receive consistent, strong praise; families cite meaningful mobility gains and skilled, motivated therapists. Long-term clinical care elicits more variable feedback. Many reviewers describe attentive nursing and clean rooms, but others describe delayed responses to call lights, missed medication administration, and slow or incomplete charting. These comments indicate unevenness in clinical continuity and medication management processes rather than a uniform level of care. There are also reports of problematic discharge coordination and delayed documentation for urgent orders, which affect transitions of care.

Staff and culture: Staff are often characterized as kind, warm, and family-oriented, with particular recognition for therapy staff, dining-room personnel, and some nurses and CNAs. Management visibility and an open-door administrator are also cited as positives. At the same time, reviewers describe variability in staff conduct and communication tone, including instances of rudeness and perceived lack of clinical knowledge on particular shifts. This suggests a degree of staff performance variability across shifts and roles.

Dining and activities: Dining is commonly described as a strength: well-balanced, appetizing meals served in a pleasant dining-room setting and occasional family-style events such as holiday dinners. Recreational programming is active and well-regarded, with gardens, fountains, and courtyard space cited as meaningful contributors to resident quality of life.

Facilities and safety: The physical environment is repeatedly described as immaculate and home-like, with private rooms, garden views, and outdoor spaces. Security measures and a focus on safety are noted as reassuring for families. However, there are intermittent sanitation and supply-maintenance lapses reported (for example, empty sanitizer dispensers and isolated odor concerns in areas), and at least one comment about early-morning access restrictions that could affect visitors; these items point to maintenance and operational oversight areas to verify on a visit.

Management and notable patterns: Management responsiveness and proactive problem-solving are highlighted by several families, yet there are also documented shortcomings around communication during incidents, discharge handling, and family notification. A small number of serious allegations — including financial concerns — appear in the feedback; these are not framed as a facility-wide finding here but warrant direct inquiry. Overall, the experience at Manor Pines appears polarized: many families report excellent rehab outcomes, attentive staff, and an attractive setting, while others report clinically important lapses in responsiveness, medication and documentation practices, and communication.

Actionable considerations for families: During a tour or evaluation, ask about nurse-to-resident ratios by shift, medication administration and charting protocols, incident and family-notification procedures, discharge planning workflows, infection-prevention/supply checks, and staff training processes. Observe multiple shifts if possible and speak directly with therapy staff, nursing leadership, and administration about any specific clinical vulnerabilities of your prospective resident. This will help confirm whether the facility's strengths align with your priorities and whether any operational gaps have been addressed.
