    Attentive staff, beautiful community, happy

I'm very pleased with this community - the staff are attentive, professional and genuinely caring, the building is beautiful and immaculately kept, and my aunt is happy, well-cared for and making new friends. She loves the activities, food and salon, management (Lauren) is responsive, and we finally have real peace of mind about her memory care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews convey a predominantly positive view of The Blake at Miramar Beach, with repeated praise for the facility’s physical environment, programmatic offerings, and the interpersonal qualities of the staff. Many families emphasize the community’s modern design, well-kept grounds, and the broad range of amenities that support an upscale assisted-living lifestyle. Commonly cited strengths include the availability of activities, social engagement opportunities, and a tone of compassion and attentiveness among caregivers.

Care and staff: Clinical- and care-related comments are largely favorable. Reviewers consistently highlight skilled nursing presence, a strong memory-care activities program, and caregiving staff described as attentive and compassionate. Families frequently report that nurses and patient assistants are knowledgeable and responsive, and that staff often go beyond basic expectations to support residents. That said, several reviewers described variability in responsiveness and follow-through by leadership or frontline staff; families considering placement should ask about staffing ratios, shift coverage, and procedures for escalating care concerns.

Dining and activities: Dining is presented as a strength in many accounts — multiple menu options, attention to dietary needs (gluten-free accommodations were noted), and an upscale dining environment. At the same time, some reviewers described inconsistent meal quality, so meal experience may vary by time or cuisine. The activity program is a strong positive: the community offers frequent on- and off-site events, adventurous excursions, cooking sessions, and a robust memory-care activity schedule that many families find engaging.

Facilities and amenities: The physical plant is frequently characterized as new, modern, and well maintained. Positive specifics include elegant common areas, private balconies overlooking courtyards, attractive landscaping, and amenities such as a spa, pools, and an on-site salon. Conversely, a minority of reviews raised sanitation- and pest-control concerns and described maintenance oversights; these appear to be isolated but important to verify during an in-person visit and a review of recent maintenance records.

Management and operations: Many reviewers praised responsive communication, supportive management, and a family-like community culture. Positive remarks include thorough care evaluations and staff who keep families informed. However, reviewers also noted operational pain points: the admission and intake process can be cumbersome, and a subset of families experienced administrative challenges. Cost is another operational consideration — the community is positioned at a premium price point for the area.

Notable patterns and guidance: The Blake appears to be a strong option for families seeking a modern, activity-rich assisted living community with engaged and compassionate staff. Prospective residents should balance the positive staff- and amenity-focused feedback against the pattern-level concerns: ask specifically about meal consistency, recent maintenance and pest-control history, admission paperwork and timelines, staffing levels across shifts, and any documented lapses in routine personal-care delivery. An in-person tour combined with targeted questions and a review of service contracts will help determine whether the community’s strengths align with an individual resident’s needs and expectations.

The community has both assisted living and memory care for people who need help with daily tasks or who live with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or dementia, and there's also respite and rehabilitation care if someone just needs a short stay or extra recovery time. Residents can choose from studios, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments, which are spacious and set up for easy living and comfort. There's a focus on hospitality, so staff help out where needed and the care plans are tailored to each person's situation.
