    Excellent care, meals; communication issues

I chose the Cloverdale community for my mom and overall I'm very pleased: the staff (Marcy, Carla and the team) are kind, patient and dedicated, the care is excellent, the administrator is attentive and creative, the home-like atmosphere is clean and comfortable, and meals are outstanding and nutritious. My main gripe is poor communication and follow-through from management - slow or no responses on hiring, scheduling and interview follow-ups. Despite that, my mom feels safe and well cared for and I think it was a good decision.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries for Ashley Manor Memory Care is strongly positive with recurring praise focused on the quality of direct care, the staff, the dining, and the facility environment. Multiple reviewers emphasize that their loved ones are safe, well cared for, and happy; phrases such as "mom loves staff," "best of care," and "residents' well-being" appear repeatedly. The community is described as intimate and home-like, which reviewers associate with comfort and a welcoming atmosphere for memory-care residents.

Staff performance is the most consistently praised element. Reviewers describe staff as kind, patient, understanding, dedicated, and focused on residents' well-being. Several individual staff members and admissions personnel are mentioned by name (Marcy for help finding the right room; Carla and other staff called "wonderful"), suggesting that families experience personalized, relationship-driven care. The Cloverdale location's administrator receives specific commendations as attentive, creative, and friendly, reinforcing the impression of engaged leadership at that site.

Care quality and facility upkeep are also repeatedly highlighted. Reviews call the care "the best of care," and note that the environment is "very clean" and "well-cared for." The home-like atmosphere is mentioned more than once, indicating that the physical setting and daily routine contribute positively to residents' comfort. Dining receives strong positive remarks: meals are characterized as outstanding, nutritious, and plentiful, with several reviewers explicitly praising the food quality.

Despite the many positives, a clear pattern of administrative and communication problems appears in multiple summaries. Reviewers report poor communication from management, unresponsiveness, and specific process issues such as no scheduling after hiring and no follow-up after interviews. These criticisms cluster around hiring and applicant/communication processes rather than direct resident care; several summaries explicitly note that resident care itself is "reportedly ok" even when administrative responsiveness is lacking. Nevertheless, the gap between high-quality frontline care and weaker administrative communication is a notable tension in the feedback.

A few additional patterns and caveats are worth noting. The reviews focus heavily on staff, cleanliness, and dining; there is little detail provided about programming, daily activities, or clinical/medical specifics beyond general care quality. The presence of multiple named staff and administrators in positive contexts suggests consistent, relationship-focused care but also indicates that experiences may be influenced by specific personnel. In summary, Ashley Manor Memory Care is viewed favorably for its compassionate staff, strong day-to-day care, clean and home-like environment, and excellent dining, while the primary area for improvement lies in management responsiveness and communication processes, particularly around hiring and follow-up with applicants or families.

    About Ashley Manor Memory Care

Ashley Manor Memory Care is a small, residential home set up for people living with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory challenges, and it's all in its own building that's separate and secure to keep folks safe from wandering, and they went so far as to put things like alarm bracelets and locked patios in place, plus memory boxes out front of every suite so people can feel more comfortable and find their own rooms, and you'll find 16 private or semi-private rooms where small pets are allowed as well. The staff's known as being friendly, joyful, and really treats everyone kindly, they're trained in everything from dementia care to helping folks with big behavior problems and transfers, and a nurse is always on staff for health support, medication help-including giving insulin-and diabetic care, with care levels that go all the way from helping with the basics like bathing and getting dressed to high-acuity and hospice services, and they'll even provide oxygen and home health in addition to incontinence support and reminders to use the bathroom.

The building is wheel-chair accessible, with indoor and outdoor areas like a secured courtyard, garden paths, and patios where you can safely walk, sit, or join in on activities every day like arts, crafts, or movie nights, and rooms come with things like showers, call buttons for help, and the safety features you need if you have trouble with walking or memory. There are activities all day to fit each resident's needs and abilities, using sensory therapies-like aroma, music, light, and even reminiscence therapy-and they do things that help with cognition, social connection, and mobility, trying hard to keep minds and bodies moving. If someone only needs a short stay, like after a surgery or when the main caregiver needs a break, Ashley Manor offers respite care or an adult day program, and there's Medicaid and all-inclusive pricing so residents and families know what to expect with costs.

Meals here are cooked on-site three times a day using nutritious and quality ingredients, snacks are available, and they take care of cleaning, laundry, and transportation if you need to get to the doctor, with access to community events and group social opportunities. Residents can pick private or shared rooms, and each care plan and activity is matched to their memory needs, with staff ready at any hour for support, whether it's something simple or a sudden medical concern-every suite and hallway has emergency systems and trained help nearby. There's a true sense of home in this cozy, bright place, and even though no place is perfect, folks say the meals and activities stand out, the staff earns trust as people who treat you with dignity, and the setting feels loving with lots of attention focused on keeping each day as safe, lively, and easy as possible for those who call Ashley Manor Memory Care home.
