    Exceptional compassionate memory care experience

I can't recommend Lily and Syringa enough. From a seamless transfer into two homey houses with a shared yard and patio, my mother received impeccable, dignified memory care from consistent, attentive CNAs and nurses who truly went the extra mile. The facility is clean, safe (alarms), serves hot home-cooked meals, and staff - including director Mary White - were compassionate, communicative, and supportive even through end-of-life. My mom thrived, felt loved, and my family was put at ease.

Families consistently highlight the staff’s passion and long tenure, describing caregivers as genuine, loving, and willing to go the extra mile. Several summaries note that residents thrive there — becoming cleaner, more comfortable, or even showing measurable improvement — and that families felt supported and relieved after placement. Multiple reviewers explicitly recommend the facility and rank it highly among local options.

Care quality and clinical support: Care quality emerges as the standout theme. Reviewers use terms like "impeccable care," "compassionate CNAs and nurses," and "memory-care expertise." Attention to medications, bedside care, and end-of-life support are called out positively, with hospice services and dignified end-of-life care repeatedly mentioned. The consistent staffing (same CNAs and nurses) and long-tenured caregivers are cited as contributing factors to continuity and quality of care. Families report clear day-to-day communication about residents’ health and activities, which reinforces trust in clinical oversight.

Staff, management, and communication: Staff characteristics are emphasized throughout: kind, hard-working, attentive, understanding, and supportive during difficult times. Several summaries name the director (Mary White) as welcoming and engaged, and multiple reviewers note that administration is hands-on, providing attention and reassurance to families. Communication is a recurrent positive — families received clear updates about their loved ones’ days and health status. The combination of consistent caregivers and responsive leadership appears to create a strong family-facing culture.

Facility, environment, and amenities: The physical environment is described as home-like and small, with two adjoining homes that share a yard, patio, courtyard, kitchen, and living room. This intimate, residential layout is repeatedly praised for making residents and families feel at home, providing a dignified, comfortable atmosphere unlike larger institutional settings. The facility is characterized as clean and well kept, contributing to the overall impression of quality. Reviewers appreciate that common areas and outdoor spaces support socialization and a homelike routine.

Dining, daily living, and safety: Dining receives consistent positive mention — reviewers note hot, home-cooked meals and excellent food. Safety features such as alarms and attentive monitoring are highlighted, giving families confidence in the facility’s ability to protect residents, particularly those with memory-care needs.

Transitions, responsiveness, and family experience: Families report seamless transfers into the homes and quick accommodation when needed. Several reviewers expressed relief and gratitude that their loved ones were supported through difficult transitions and end-of-life stages, with some saying they wished they'd found the facility sooner. The combination of rapid responsiveness, thorough communication, and emotional support for families contributes strongly to overall satisfaction.

About Lily and Syringa Assisted Living

Lily and Syringa Assisted Living sits in Idaho Falls off 1st Street and focuses on both memory care and assisted living for older adults. The community serves Southeast Idaho and houses a small number of residents-usually 12 to 16 per building-which lets staff give more one-on-one care and helps everyone feel at home. The facility accepts people aged 55 and up, and has mixed suites available, from private and shared rooms to studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, with choices for furnished or unfurnished spaces. Safety's a big focus here, so every building has alarm systems, a gated entrance, sprinkler system, and several safety and handicap features, which all help residents feel secure and stop wandering, especially for people with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia. There's around-the-clock care, with certified nursing assistants and staff specially trained in memory loss, plus a part-time licensed nurse is on staff and there's always a doctor on call. Most caregivers have extra training in CPR and first aid, and everyone receives ongoing lessons in ethics and dementia care.

Residents get help with daily living needs like meals, medication, dressing, bathing, transfers, and more. There's daily housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning, as well as transportation for doctor visits, shopping, and group outings. The facility has an emergency alert system and offers supervision 24 hours a day, so families can trust that someone's always nearby if help's needed. For meals, the kitchen serves home-cooked, dietitian-approved food three times a day, including snacks and diets for diabetes, allergies, or special nutrition needs. Residents can choose to eat in the dining room with all-day restaurant-style service, and there are kitchenettes in some rooms for those who want them. The grounds include walking paths, outdoor and indoor gardens, and outdoor sitting areas, and inside you'll find a game room, fitness center, salon and barber shop, arts room, and entertainment spaces for group activities, arts, crafts, music, and movie nights. Many programs are set up to encourage movement, mental activity, and socializing, with health and wellness programs built for seniors' needs. The staff also set up religious services offsite and offer devotional support for those who ask.

Memory care services here cover everything from personalized care plans to tailored activities, and the environment aims to reduce confusion for those with dementia or Alzheimer's. Staff are friendly and helpful, sometimes described as hard workers who are patient and look out for residents' needs, especially when memory problems make it tough for people to speak up for themselves. Residents can get specialty care for things like diabetes, incontinence, mobility challenges, and non-ambulatory needs, which means people can usually stay at Lily and Syringa even as their health changes. Housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance are part of the package, along with resident and guest parking, WiFi, cable TV, and community-sponsored activities that range from fitness classes to movie nights.

Payment options include private pay, social security, insurance, and veteran's benefits, with separate fees for community, respite, buy-in, and extra care, as well as options for all-inclusive rent. The community offers help with finances, including advice for home sales and payment planning. Family members can use tools and online systems to stay updated and get tips about care, and the team encourages frequent visits and helps families adjust during move-in or end-of-life care. Aging in place, respite stays, and a supportive environment help residents live as independently as possible while getting needed support. Lily and Syringa is Gold Star rated by the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, offers both private and shared rooms, and focuses on a safe, warm, and clean community where seniors can enjoy social, fitness, and wellness activities every day, whether they're mostly independent or need full memory care.
