Windsor Gardens has many different care options for older adults, so you've got assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing care, and even hospice support, which means if someone needs more help later, they don't have to move somewhere else. The building has safety features, with nurses and awake staff on duty day and night, plus emergency call systems if there's a problem. There's housekeeping, maintenance, and meals provided, so folks don't need to worry about cooking or cleaning, and people live mainly in private rooms or suites, some of which have kitchenettes or patio access, and each room has big tubs or wheelchair-accessible showers for easy bathing. You get housekeeping, transportation for errands, free parking, and the staff helps with personal care like bathing, dressing, medication, and diabetes-though residents need to manage their own incontinence. For people with memory problems, like Alzheimer's, they've got special areas and use bracelets with alarms to prevent wandering, and supervised staff on call all the time. Windsor Gardens tries to balance independence and offers a bunch of activities; there's bingo, picnics, Walmart outings, van rides, birthday and monthly events, movie nights, resident-run events, and even a piano played every afternoon by someone who lives there. Residents can spend time in outdoor areas, walking paths, gardens, or in indoor spaces like a library, game and business rooms, fitness and spa rooms, and they can get their hair done at the barber or beautician onsite. They have devotional services on and off the property, so faith-based residents can stay connected, and there are nearby places like cafes, restaurants, Bardstown Christian Fellowship, a Kroger Pharmacy, and hospitals such as Flaget Memorial and Bardstown Internal Medicine, which is handy if someone needs medical help. Windsor Gardens is locally owned and works to make people feel fulfilled and supported, and they do this with personalized care plans, special programs for mild cognitive issues, social gatherings, special events, and regular wellness activities. There's room for about fifty residents in assisted living, and the community offers different floorplans, meals included, diabetic and medication management, standby help with moving from beds to wheelchairs, and 24-hour supervision. Smoking's only allowed outside in marked places, and transportation is complimentary for some trips or can be arranged by staff for a fee if folks want to go somewhere else. There's really a sense that Windsor Gardens is built to give people support but let them enjoy as much independence as possible, and the community spaces seem busy with activities, music, socializing, and simple comforts that help residents feel at home.

Clean facility, excellent care, engaging
I toured this private senior living facility for a short respite stay for my husband and was impressed - very clean, easy parking, good meals, and engaging activities and outings. The medical staff and medication monitoring gave me real confidence, and the staff were consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful. It's expensive but worth it; my husband genuinely enjoys his time here.
