    Homelike, caring assisted living recommended

My family lived here nearly four years and I'm very grateful. The place feels homelike and beautiful - gorgeous furniture, delightful artwork and well-appointed common spaces - and residents genuinely help one another. Staff are humble, kind, competent and treat us like family, going above and beyond with caring, flexible dining, nutritious meals and age-appropriate activities. My blind dad received excellent help during self-care. It's assisted living only (no nursing care) and some rooms could be redecorated to be brighter, but overall it's affordable, peaceful yet full of life, and I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with consistent praise focused on staff, atmosphere, and the communal environment. Multiple reviewers described Cedar Creek Assisted Living as homelike and thoughtfully furnished, noting gorgeous furniture, delightful artwork, and common spaces that feel cared for. The community is characterized as peaceful but full of life, with residents who support one another. Several reviewers explicitly recommended the facility and expressed gratitude for long-term stays, including a nearly four-year residency that inspired particular appreciation.

Care quality and staff performance are the most frequently highlighted strengths. Reviewers used terms such as kind, humble, competent, friendly, and caring to describe staff. There are repeated mentions of staff providing above-and-beyond care and creating a family-like, welcoming environment. One review emphasized that the facility was great during a self-care period. Overall, high-quality personal attention and a nurturing approach to residents are prominent themes, and several reviewers specifically said their family members loved the staff and the care provided.

Facilities and living spaces receive largely positive comments about public areas and customization, with hallways and common areas noted as being furnished with care and residents having the option to furnish their own apartments. However, there is a recurring note that some private rooms or apartments are outdated or have a dull ambience; several reviewers suggested redecorating or brightening rooms to create a more cheerful atmosphere. The presence of studio apartments and affordability were called out as advantages, making Cedar Creek appealing for those seeking assisted living with flexible living options.

Dining and activities are also strengths. Multiple reviewers praised the meals as good and nutritious, and one mentioned a memorable Thanksgiving meal that contributed to a welcoming, family-feel. Dining is described as flexible, and activities are consistently characterized as age-appropriate and engaging — reviewers said there were good activities overall, contributing to the community’s lively yet peaceful vibe.

There are a few notable limitations or concerns to consider. Cedar Creek is strictly an assisted living facility and does not provide higher-level nursing care; reviewers explicitly noted this limitation, so prospective residents who may require skilled nursing should plan accordingly. One reviewer mentioned a blind resident who needed extra assistance navigating, which suggests that residents with sensory impairments might require additional support or family involvement beyond standard assisted living services. Finally, while common areas are praised, the condition and decor of some private rooms were described as outdated or not colorful, a recurring suggestion being to redecorate or brighten interiors to improve resident morale and ambience.

In summary, the reviews portray Cedar Creek Assisted Living as a warm, well-run assisted living community with exceptionally praised staff, a supportive resident culture, attractive common areas, good meals, and meaningful activities. Its affordability and flexible living arrangements are additional positives. Prospective residents and families should be aware of the facility’s assisted-living-only scope (no nursing care) and consider whether any specific medical or sensory needs (for example, significant vision impairment) might require extra support beyond what is typically provided. Addressing the relatively minor but recurring concern about dated or dull private-room decor could further strengthen an otherwise highly recommended community.
