    Compassionate staff make this home

I've lived here eight years and it truly feels like a home away from home. The care is exceptional - Rose Taylor and the compassionate nursing and therapy teams (Beth, April, Stephanie, Ms. Margaret) go above and beyond, and staff handle finances/insurance and family questions with clarity. The facility is well kept, calm and well run, with great dining, activities, maintenance and housekeeping - I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with consistent praise for the quality of care, the compassion of staff, and the effectiveness of the facility's rehabilitation services. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize that staff go above and beyond, treating residents like family and creating an extended-family atmosphere. Individual caregivers and nurses are frequently singled out for empathy, attentiveness, and competence, and long-tenured residents and staff mention provides evidence of continuity and stable relationships. Multiple reviewers explicitly stated that their loved ones were put at ease and well cared for, and one reviewer noted an eight-year long-term resident that loves the facility.

Therapy and rehabilitation emerge as standout strengths. Reviewers specifically call out ‘‘amazing therapy’’ and name therapists (Beth, April, Stephanie) for delivering excellent outcomes. Cognitive therapy is repeatedly praised, with Ms. Margaret highlighted for ‘‘sensational cognitive therapy.’’ The combination of high-quality physical/occupational/rehabilitative care and focused cognitive services positions the facility as a strong choice for post-acute rehabilitation and recovery-focused stays. Several reviewers recommend the center highly for rehabilitation and note that therapy staff played a key role in successful stays.

Management, administration, and family communication are also strengths. The administrator is described as running the facility smoothly and maintaining an open-door policy, and staff are credited with easing families' minds by explaining insurance and finances clearly and handling billing accurately. These operational strengths are reinforced by comments that the facility remained calm and efficiently run even during an ownership change. Proactive maintenance and a strong maintenance team contribute to a well-kept, home-like environment that reviewers appreciate.

Facilities, dining, and activities receive positive remarks as well. The kitchen and dietary services are called excellent, housekeeping is commended for keeping the place looking nice, and residents have access to plenty of activities. Reviewers describe a comfortable, home-away-from-home feel and highlight campaigns such as Dandelion Dreams as evidence of community-oriented programming. The combination of attractive physical spaces, active programming, and reliable support services contributes to the overall favorable impression.

There are no consistent or substantive negative themes present in the review summaries provided. Comments about transitions—such as an ownership change—are framed positively (the facility remained calm and well-run), and no recurrent concerns about clinical care, safety, or responsiveness are reported. In short, the reviews portray The Columns Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as a well-managed, compassionate facility with exceptional therapy services, strong family communication, reliable operations, and a warm, home-like atmosphere that many families and long-term residents value highly.
