    Warm attentive staff, lively campus

I live here and love the warm, attentive staff, clean, hotel-like apartments, excellent food, and the full range of care all in one building. The campus is lively and convenient - movie theater, gym, art and music programs, daily walks and outings, café/ice cream parlor, barber and on-site services - and the grounds and location are lovely and reasonably priced. Minor downsides: a few areas feel a bit institutional and wheelchair access is limited in places.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with frequent praise for staff, cleanliness, activities, amenities, and value. Multiple reviewers call the staff warm, friendly, caring and excellent; families note that residents are loved and well cared-for. Cleanliness and upkeep are repeatedly emphasized — reviewers mention fresh paint, a clean facility, hotel-like accommodations, and nicely maintained outdoor grounds. The facility is described as comfortable, cozy and inviting by many, contributing to an overall sunny and welcoming atmosphere.

Care quality and staffing are a clear strength in these summaries. Reviewers consistently highlight supportive, attentive staff and specific care resources such as medication assistance and the availability of multiple levels of care within one building. Several comments indicate family members felt confident leaving loved ones in the facility’s care, and statements like “very good care” and “resident loved by family” reflect that trust. Staff-related positives extend into service-oriented amenities (meal delivery, barber shop/salon, on-site shop) and social programming, showing staff involvement in both daily care and resident quality of life.

Facilities and amenities are another strong theme. The campus is described as a beautiful mixed-use setting with indoor and outdoor lounges, a movie theater, chapel, library, activity room, multiple living rooms, an exercise room/spa, and an ice cream parlor / coffee café. On-site conveniences such as a barber/beauty parlor and a small shop were noted, along with pleasant outdoor spaces and walking paths. The property’s proximity to community resources (YMCA, town recreation center) and the availability of local transportation and shopping trips add to its appeal. Many reviewers emphasize that accommodations are private and comfortable, with some describing apartments as nicely done and hotel-like.

Dining and food services receive mixed but largely favorable comments. Numerous reviewers describe the meals as wonderful, high-class, or exquisite, and several specifically noted that residents loved the meals. A few reviews, however, contrast that praise by calling aspects of the dining experience uninviting or “nursing home-style.” This suggests variability in dining atmosphere or perhaps differences between meal service in certain care wings versus others. Overall, most reviewers praise the quality and variety of food, but a minority expressed dissatisfaction with dining presentation or ambiance.

The activity program is frequently highlighted as a major positive. Reviewers refer to a well-organized calendar with diverse offerings: bingo, book clubs, arts and crafts, cribbage and card rooms, exercise classes, live music, movie nights, craft fairs, morning and afternoon walks, and scheduled outings. The frequency and variety of programs — plus on-site meeting and gathering spaces — are repeatedly cited as contributing to an engaged resident community and strong social life.

Notable concerns are limited but consistent across the negative comments. A recurring accessibility issue is the lack of wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and some limitations for wheelchair users, which may affect residents with mobility needs. A small number of reviews describe parts of the facility as institutional or hospital-like in ambiance, and some reviewers perceived the property as being lower-end or not upscale despite other comments calling it lovely and high-class; this points to possible variability between different wings, levels of care, or units. The mixed impressions about dining atmosphere also align with this pattern of variability. Taken together, these criticisms are specific and actionable (accessibility upgrades, dining environment improvements, and addressing differing standards across wings) but appear to represent a minority of reviewers.

In summary, the dominant impression from these reviews is that Coastal Landing is a clean, well-staffed, activity-rich community with strong amenities and generally high resident satisfaction. Strengths include attentive staff, abundant and varied programming, on-site conveniences, and an attractive campus with both indoor and outdoor spaces. The main areas to watch are wheelchair accessibility, occasional institutional ambiance reported by some, and some inconsistent dining experiences; these issues appear in a minority of comments and may reflect differences between care levels or building sections. Overall, for families seeking an active, social senior living environment with reasonable cost and a wide array of services, Coastal Landing receives consistently positive endorsements from the reviewers provided.
