    Clean caring staff cozy community

I loved this facility. The owner is a nurse and the staff are professional, caring, and even present on weekends. It's clean, newly painted with updated interiors and a modern kitchen, and there's a strong sense of community with a full activities calendar; rooms are small but cozy. I'd recommend it.

    About Kind Heart Assisted Living

Kind Heart Assisted Living sits in a quiet part of Baltimore, Maryland, not far from places like Sinai Hospital and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute, and it's the kind of place where there's only room for up to four residents at a time, so folks tend to really get to know each other, and a nurse who owns the place comes around quite a lot, making sure everyone's taken care of in a personal, home-like way, and the staff's always there, day and night, in case someone needs anything or needs help getting up or dressed or just feels unsure overnight. You'll find different communities with their own names, like Angelic Care Assisted Living and The Mohawk Estate, and the whole setup leans toward giving people space to stay as independent as possible, while also helping out with whatever daily stuff they need, like bathing, eating, or remembering to take medicine, because the staff monitors that, and the meals always aim to be nutritious, with options for folks who want vegetarian or vegan choices or who have specific dietary needs. The building itself feels cozy, sort of like stepping into someone's modern, well-kept home, even if the building's older, because the owners keep the rooms and common areas clean and updated, with sun coming into the dining room through big windows and comfortable seating around a big TV for folks who want to watch something together. Every room comes furnished, some are private, others are shared, and both types have high-speed internet, TV, and their own bathroom features, with housekeeping and laundry done as needed, and there's even hair care and beauty services if someone wants them.

You'll find a small kitchen with modern appliances, like a big freezer and refrigerator, and lots of the activities on the calendar-game nights, movie nights, stretching, yoga, trivia, singing, and community outings-are picked to keep everyone feeling involved and stimulate conversation or social connections, with religious services and holiday parties, too, and several outdoor spots, including a garden and walking paths, round out the list for those who enjoy fresh air. The place is fully wheelchair accessible, so everything's on one level and easy to get around, and transportation can be arranged for medical appointments or outings, making it easier to keep up with outside commitments or just go out for a bit. Things like pharmacy delivery, wellness checks from a Registered Nurse, visits from a primary care doctor, and regular therapy sessions (physical, occupational, and speech if needed) make care convenient, especially with the level one through three assisted living license that lets the staff handle anything from simple help to more complex situations like high acuity care, diabetic and memory care, and even temporary respite stays if someone needs short-term help. Residents can even bring a pet, if that's important to them, and prices for rooms start at $2,500 a month for semi-private and $3,500 for private rooms, which comes out below the Baltimore and Maryland averages for assisted living. Payment's accepted by private pay and Medicaid waiver. The atmosphere's friendly, and the owner and his wife switch weekends to make sure the place runs smoothly, so families and residents often say they care a lot, and all these parts come together to offer a simple, supportive, and safe environment for seniors who want plenty of attention and a sense of belonging in a smaller, peaceful setting.
