    Compassionate attentive staff, excellent care

I placed my mom at Arcadia and I'm very pleased. The facility is clean and home-like, staff (especially Shannon Daisey and owner Donna) are compassionate, attentive and well-staffed, offering one-on-one help with dressing/bathing/meals, strong activities and tasty home-cooked food. Move-in was smooth, hospice support was available, my mom is more alert and eating better - I highly recommend Arcadia.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Arcadia Assisted Living of Chester are overwhelmingly positive. Multiple reviewers praise the quality of care, the compassion of staff, and the familial atmosphere. There is a consistent pattern of gratitude and strong recommendations from families. Many reviewers explicitly describe the staff as kind, respectful, and willing to go above and beyond, and several single out management and specific staff members (owner Donna and Shannon Daisey) as approachable and responsive.

Care quality and staff: Care quality is the dominant positive theme. Reviewers repeatedly note a high staff to resident ratio, which enables attentive, one-on-one interaction. Staff are credited with helping residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, shaving, and meal preparation. Multiple comments emphasize dignity, compassion, and genuine kindness, with staff described as nurturing and attentive. Clinical support is present, with reviewers noting that a doctor and nurse are available and that hospice services are supported when needed. Families describe feeling comfortable entrusting loved ones to the team and report that residents appear happier, more alert, and eating better after arrival.

Management and admissions: Management and ownership receive positive mentions for accessibility and responsiveness. The move-in process is described as smooth and welcoming, and specific staff members are thanked for making transitions easier. Communication from the team is reported as clear, with explanations provided and an overall supportive approach toward families.

Facilities and cleanliness: The facility is characterized as clean and well-kept, with pleasant communal spaces such as a notable large entryway fish tank and a day room equipped with electric reclining chairs. Rooms are described variably; while most comments are positive about cleanliness and upkeep, a few reviewers used terms like decent to describe rooms and care, implying comfortable but not necessarily luxurious accommodations.

Dining and activities: Dining is a recurring strength in the reviews. Residents receive three meals and snacks daily, with reviewers praising the menu and the home-cooked quality of meals. Activities programming also receives strong praise, with daily activities, card games, and social offerings noted as engaging and beneficial to resident well-being. The combination of good food and active programming contributes to the home-like, family-focused atmosphere many reviewers highlight.

Culture and resident experience: A clear theme is a family-like, home-like culture where residents are well loved and treated with respect. Reviewers emphasize warmth, personal attention, and a sense that staff genuinely care about resident comfort and dignity. These cultural attributes appear to underpin the consistent satisfaction expressed by families.

Notable limitations and gaps: There are very few negative comments in these summaries. The limited criticisms that do appear are mild: some reviewers described rooms and care as merely decent rather than exceptional, and one observation notes that some residents have Alzheimer disease, which may be relevant to families specifically seeking specialized memory care or a separate memory-care unit. Beyond that, reviewers did not raise recurring concerns about staffing, safety, or hygiene. Also, reviewers do not comment on topics such as cost, wait lists, or specialized therapy services, so those areas remain unaddressed in the available feedback.

Conclusion: These reviews portray Arcadia Assisted Living of Chester as a well-staffed, compassionate assisted living option with strong daily programming, good meals, clean facilities, responsive management, and a family-centered culture. Families repeatedly express trust and gratitude for the team, and the presence of clinical support and hospice coordination adds to the sense of security. The few minor caveats are limited to modest descriptions of accommodations and the presence of residents with Alzheimer disease, but there are no consistent negative trends reported in these summaries.
