    Gorgeous facility with caring staff

I toured this gorgeous, brand-new facility and felt immediately welcome - the staff genuinely felt like family: caring, attentive nurses, CNAs and an executive director who went above and beyond. The building is spotless and accessible, rooms are spacious with large bathrooms, the food was fresh and delicious, and activities/theater/reading lounge (plus weekly piano) made residents seem happy. My only caveats were occasional gaps in nursing coverage and limited transportation/meal-plan options, but overall I would highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The collection of reviews for The Homestead Assisted Living Community is predominantly positive, with numerous reviewers praising the facility's cleanliness, newer construction, intimate size, and the warm, family-like demeanor of the staff. Several reviewers explicitly state they would highly recommend the community and express gratitude for the care provided. However, there is at least one substantive negative account that raises concerns about care availability and services; these conflicting reports create a pattern of strong positive impressions punctuated by at least one significant outlier.

Facilities and environment: Multiple reviewers highlight the property as gorgeous and brand-new, repeatedly noting that the building and common areas are extremely clean. Private living spaces receive favorable commentary — described as spacious with large bathrooms and an accessible design that accommodates a variety of needs. The Homestead appears to invest in meaningful communal spaces: an outstanding activities room, a theater, and a reading lounge are specifically mentioned, as are outdoor seating areas that provide additional resident amenities. The overall physical environment is consistently cited as a major strength.

Staff and quality of care: The dominant theme across reviews is the caring, helpful nature of the staff. Reviewers mention friendly nursing staff and CNAs, attentive nurses, and staff who act like family and go above and beyond. The community’s small size (noted as 36 residents) and family-owned status are linked to personalized, one-on-one care and the ability of staff to spend extra time with prospective residents during tours. These comments suggest a high degree of resident-focused attention and accessibility of staff. That said, one review reports a lack of care and the absence of nursing staff, and another mentions unwilling staff. These reports contradict the majority view and indicate that prospective residents or families should verify staffing levels and care scope during a visit.

Activities and social life: Activity programming receives strong praise. Reviewers call out arts and crafts, bingo, and weekly piano performances, alongside well-appointed common spaces like the theater and reading lounge. The presence of organized, regular activities and a robust activities space supports the impression of an engaging social environment. Several reviewers note that residents seem happy, which aligns with the emphasis on accessible programming and communal amenities.

Dining: Several positive comments reference good, fresh, and delicious food, including specific praise for lunch. However, one review explicitly states there are no meal plans, which conflicts with other reviewers’ dining praise. This inconsistency could reflect differences in service tiers, timing, or individual expectations; it is a factor prospective residents should clarify directly with management.

Management, size, and personalization: The family-owned characterization and small resident census are recurring positives in the reviews, tied to individualized attention and a sense of family. Reviewers appreciate that staff take the time to address concerns and that management figures (e.g., an executive director mentioned in one review) are engaged and helpful. The community’s small scale is repeatedly framed as a benefit that reduces crowding and increases the likelihood of personalized interactions.

Notable patterns and concerns: The overwhelming majority of comments are favorable, but the presence of a strongly negative review is important to note. That review raises several specific concerns — lack of nursing staff, unwilling staff behavior, no transportation, and no meal plans — which contradict other testimonials that praise nurses, helpful staff, and meal quality. Because the positive and negative reports directly contradict each other on core service elements, this suggests either isolated incidents, timing-related staffing fluctuations, differences between service packages, or variability in reviewer expectations. Prospective residents and families would be well advised to confirm current staffing levels (licensed nursing coverage and CNA availability), transportation options, and exactly what dining services or meal plans are included before making decisions.

Bottom line: The Homestead is repeatedly described as a clean, attractive, and intimate assisted living community with a family-oriented staff, strong activity programming, and generally well-regarded dining. The principal caveat is an inconsistent report claiming significant service shortfalls; given that discrepancy, a direct conversation with management and an in-person visit focused on confirming staffing, care scope, dining, and transportation is recommended to validate that the positive experiences reflected in most reviews are consistent with current operations.
