    Professional, caring staff; very clean

I had a very enjoyable visit - staff greeted me professionally and were kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The facility was very clean (no nursing-home smell) in an older but beautiful setting, the meals looked delicious, and I'm very satisfied and would happily recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on the quality of interpersonal care and the facility’s cleanliness. Reviewers consistently highlight staff behavior — using words such as friendly, kind, respectful, loving, and professional — indicating that interactions with nurses, aides, and front-desk personnel form the core strength of Quitman County Health and Rehab. Multiple reviewers expressed gratitude, recommended the facility, and described visits as enjoyable, which points to sustained satisfaction from both residents’ families and visitors.

Care quality emerges as a dominant theme. Reviews specifically note that staff are attentive to patients, provide good care, and treat residents with respect and warmth. Phrases like “staff very good at taking care of patients,” “staff attentive to patients,” and “caring, respectful” suggest that day-to-day clinical and personal care are perceived as competent and compassionate. Praise for staff was mentioned across nearly every summary, indicating that staffing attitudes and bedside manner are consistently strong selling points.

Facility conditions and cleanliness are another clear strength. Multiple reviews comment that the building is very clean and lacks the stereotypical nursing-home smell, noting a pleasant aroma instead. That impression of cleanliness likely reinforces family confidence in infection control and daily upkeep. The only facility-related concern mentioned is that the building is older. While reviewers make clear the place is clean and well cared for, the descriptor “older building” signals potential aesthetic or infrastructure limitations even though maintenance appears adequate.

Dining is mentioned positively, with at least one review noting “delicious-looking meals.” While comments are brief, they suggest that food presentation and appeal are acceptable to visitors and likely residents. There are no specific complaints about menu variety, quality, or meal service beyond the positive impression captured in the summaries.

Admissions, visitors’ experience, and front-office interactions receive favorable comments as well. Descriptions such as “quick and easy,” “professional greeting,” and “enjoyable visit” indicate that initial interactions, touring, or visitation procedures are smooth and welcoming. This likely contributes to the willingness of families to recommend the facility and to express gratitude.

Notable patterns and limitations: the reviews overwhelmingly emphasize staff demeanor and cleanliness while offering little direct detail on medical outcomes, therapy programs, activities/recreation, staffing ratios, cost, or long-term care management. The single recurring concern is the facility’s age — reviewers explicitly call it an older building — but they do not associate age with poor maintenance or care; rather, it appears as an observational note. Because the supplied summaries are uniformly positive and focused on interpersonal and environmental qualities, there is limited information to evaluate clinical performance, organized activities, or administrative policies.

In summary, Quitman County Health and Rehab is portrayed in these reviews as a clean, well-maintained facility with a notably compassionate and professional staff. Visitors and family members report positive experiences with admissions and visits, appreciate the pleasant atmosphere and meals, and frequently express gratitude and recommendations. The main caveat from the available comments is the facility’s older building, though this does not appear to detract from the perceived quality of care or daily living conditions. The reviews provide strong support for the facility’s strengths in person-centered care and cleanliness while leaving gaps in information regarding clinical outcomes, activity programming, and operational details.

About Quitman County Health and Rehab

Quitman County Health & Rehab is a small, for-profit nursing facility located in Marks, Mississippi. This independently operating center offers both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care services, with a total capacity of 60 beds. It is not a component of a larger continuing care retirement community, but it does participate in both Medicare and Medicaid programs, making it accessible to a wide range of residents with varying financial and health backgrounds.

The facility is designed to serve seniors who require varying levels of care. Residents may need assistance following a hospital stay or ongoing support with daily activities such as dressing, eating, mobility, and bathroom use. Quitman County Health & Rehab provides around 3 hours and 56 minutes of nurse staffing per resident each day, striving to address the medical and non-medical needs of those it serves. A notable percentage of residents are able to maintain their capacity for self-care, including mobility and routine personal activities, reflecting an emphasis on dignified, restorative care. The facility has a high annual influenza vaccination rate among residents, further demonstrating a commitment to health and wellness.

The center supports both short-term rehabilitation, often for those recovering after acute hospitalizations, and longer term nursing care. Medicare can generally cover up to 100 days of short-term rehabilitation, provided certain criteria are met, and Medicaid may be available for those requiring extended care once other means of payment are exhausted. Emergency room visit rates for short-term residents stand at 20.8% during their stays, while long-term care residents have an average of 2.6 emergency room visits per 1,000 patient days, indicating ongoing monitoring and responsiveness to resident health needs. The facility receives regular health, fire, and safety inspections and has not been fined or denied payment in recent years.

In addition to skilled nursing and rehabilitative support, Quitman County Health & Rehab implements an infection prevention and control program to protect residents and meet professional standards for safety. The facility also follows protocols for safe and appropriate food procurement, handling, storage, and service, ensuring nutritious and professionally prepared meals for residents. Medications and biologicals are managed according to accepted professional principles, with secure storage procedures in place, and respiratory care is provided when needed to meet individual resident needs.

Overall, Quitman County Health & Rehab offers a comprehensive range of services for seniors seeking post-acute or custodial care in a smaller, community-focused environment. The combination of skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies, and attention to the social and health needs of residents supports their ongoing comfort, wellbeing, and independence.
