    Affordable apartment-style living with compromises

I live here in Great Falls and it's a great-value, apartment-style option - clean, well-kept and staffed by very friendly, helpful people with an approachable administrator. Rooms are small in an older building (a bit warehouse-like), privacy is reduced and some window coverings need updating. Two meals a day, laundry, apartment cleaning and transport are provided so I don't have to cook, though the food is only fair and nursing/assistance is limited; activities (chair exercises, Bingo, games, weekly shopping) run regularly when not disrupted by COVID. Staff and residents are lovely, safety rules are strict, and overall I'm satisfied and would recommend it for affordable long-term living.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is generally positive about the human side of Eagles Manor Retirement Community, with repeated praise for the staff, administration, and the social atmosphere. Many reviewers highlight staff as friendly, helpful and approachable, and note that administration appears to care about residents. Residents tend to be social and satisfied, participating in posted activities and reporting that people "have a good time." The community is seen as offering good value — repeatedly described as low cost or great value for the price — and attracts long-term residents, which contributes to a stable, familiar environment.

Care quality and assistance: Reviews reveal a notable distinction between hospitality and clinical care. While staff are praised for friendliness and support, several summaries emphasize limited clinical or nursing support — in fact, absence of a nurse is explicitly mentioned. Some reviewers note a lack of assistance at certain times (for example, early morning breakfast not being attended), suggesting staffing or scheduling gaps. This indicates Eagles Manor is best suited to relatively independent seniors who need household supports (meals, laundry, transportation) rather than ongoing nursing or medical care.

Facilities and apartments: The physical plant receives mixed-but-specific feedback. On the positive side, the building is described as clean and well-kept with many common areas and accessible parking. Apartment-style living, with laundry services and apartment cleaning, is appreciated. On the other hand, multiple reviewers call out the building as old, with small rooms and a generally dated feel — one reviewer even used the phrase "warehouse for older people." Practical issues such as missing window coverings (need for blinds) were mentioned. Cleanliness and maintenance appear to be well-managed despite the building's age.

Dining and meals: Dining is a consistent theme with mixed reviews. A clear advantage is that meals are provided (reducing the need to cook) and the community serves two meals daily, which many residents value. However, opinions on meal quality vary significantly: descriptors range from "great food" to "low quality" or "fair/okay meals." This suggests variability in meal satisfaction between residents or over time, and may point to menu limitations or inconsistent culinary delivery.

Activities and social life: Activities are commonly cited and often praised — regular offerings like chair exercises, Bingo, games, and weekly shopping trips help residents stay active and engaged. An active activities program and visible posting of events are positives. That said, several reviewers reported minimal activities at times or disruptions due to COVID, indicating that activity levels can fluctuate. Transportation services are available for scheduled outings, but require advance arrangement, which may limit spontaneous trips.

Management, safety and value: Management and administration receive favorable comments for being responsive and approachable. The facility enforces strict safety rules, which some reviewers see as a benefit for resident security, though others feel these rules can be restrictive. The combination of friendly staff, basic supportive services, and low cost contributes to a perception of good overall value. Many reviewers say they would recommend the community.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is a trade-off between cost and scope of services. Eagles Manor appears to offer an affordable, social, and well-maintained independent/apartment-style option with strong personal support from staff, but with limited medical/nursing resources and an older physical plant. Prospective residents or families should weigh priorities: this community is well-suited for seniors who prioritize affordability, friendliness of staff, community activities, and basic supports (meals, laundry, transportation arranged ahead). Those who need more robust clinical care, private/modern accommodations, or consistently high culinary standards may find the facility less suitable. The reviews suggest predictable strengths (staff, value, cleanliness) and recurring concerns (medical staffing, food consistency, building age) that should guide decision-making and follow-up questions during a tour.

    About Eagles Manor Retirement Community

Eagles Manor Retirement Community sits in Great Falls, Montana, surrounded by quiet and pretty landscapes, and you'll find it's been around since 1966 which gives it a settled, comfortable feeling, the sort you don't see everywhere, and a lot of folks seem to appreciate that it has a supportive staff led by Administrator Judy Lindquist, who's had over 34 years of experience, and Eagles Manor itself serves about 170 residents in a mid-rise building that's always well-kept and friendly. People who want independent living or need some help with daily tasks like bathing or getting dressed find options here, and they've got studio and one-bedroom apartments set up to be safe, with some designed for those who want more affordable choices and others for folks who want a little more space or comfort, even luxury, and everything feels home-like and calm so residents can feel at ease. Pets are welcome, and the community accepts people aged 62 and older along with those living with a disability or handicap, so you get a nice mix of folks together, and the place runs like it should with weekly housekeeping, maintenance support, and scheduled transportation services including parking. You see the staff try to help everybody stay engaged with events, activities, and wellness programs, plus three hot meals every day, and just down the hall you'll find cozy common areas where people gather to relax or swap stories while the on-site beauty shop and handy laundry facility make things a bit easier. They've got a memory care program for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia, helping to keep things safe and stable, and for those who need non-medical help but want to remain in their apartments, trained aides provide home care and some companionship. Families often mention how the place gives expert guidance for long-term care decisions and supports everyone-residents and family members alike-during transitions or tough times, and Eagles Manor gets decent feedback with a 4.3 rating from a handful of reviews, likely because it's a steady choice in the area, not fancy but friendly, with a good staff and a long history of helping seniors.
