    About Forestview Manor

Forestview Manor sits on 15 wooded acres in Meredith, New Hampshire, right next to Lake Winnipesaukee, and the place feels calm, kind, and pretty quiet, with three manors named Maplewood, Birchwood, and Oakwood, each set up to help people with different needs, and the place really puts a lot of focus on memory care for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, even up through the late stages, so families looking for that kind of help find it here, though the community welcomes people who just need regular assisted living, lighter help, as well as people who want to age in place. Residents can choose private or shared rooms, some with full or shared baths, and there are 62 private rooms and 7 shared sites all together, with monthly prices starting at $4,695 for shared and $6,395 for private options, and those include nursing staff on duty all the time, medication help, meals, snacks, housekeeping, and laundry, with activities running every day.

Meals are chef-prepared, and there's a dining room with a fireplace, three pleasant dining rooms in all, and plenty of options for special diets like vegetarian, gluten-free, low sodium, or low sugar, plus snacks any time. The five courtyards outside are secure so folks who might wander stay safe, and there's a nice front porch and a couple of smaller courtyards, too. Inside and outside gathering spots give residents space to talk, read, or join group activities, which range from music, crafts, cooking classes, and gardening, up to brain-fitness games, yoga, stretching, seasonal parties, and trips on their 14-passenger wheelchair-accessible bus, and families can tag along for outings if they'd like.

For folks with greater care needs, Forestview Manor's staffed with nurses, medical aides, certified dementia practitioners, and a medical director, and there are diabetic care services-staff can test blood sugar or give insulin shots-and the staff can handle challenging behaviors, incontinence, and wandering, thanks to alarms and bracelets that keep the community secure, and mechanical lifts as well as one- and two-person transfer help are available so people who can't walk get help moving safely. Visiting specialists include podiatrists, dentists, and therapists for physical, occupational, and speech needs, and there's onsite devotional services and a beautician for haircut days. Hospice is available, as is respite care for those needing just a short-term stay, and the transition from less to more care happens smoothly since the staff can help people as their needs change.

Residents get lots of reminders or hands-on help with things like grooming and toileting when needed, and the staff stays up all night and day for emergencies so folks and their families don't have to worry. Pets are allowed, and the team will help care for dogs and cats if residents can't do everything for them anymore. There's a therapy program keeping staff up to date on dementia care and behavior, and the AspireCare program tries to help people find joy, even as they lose some abilities, by offering purposeful activities that fit their interests and abilities. Private, one-on-one meetings help families plan for costs, and the community is certified for the Veteran's Aid and Attendance program, which can help with money if someone qualifies.

Forestview Manor doesn't claim to be a perfect place, but the team tries to show kindness and respect each day, welcoming people who want as much independence as possible, as well as those who need a lot of help, especially anyone who needs secure, thoughtful Alzheimer's or memory care in a homey, wooded setting.
