    Compassionate, professional care that heals

I'm so grateful for Clover Rest Home. My parent arrived weakened and diabetic and received personalized, five-star nursing and top-notch PT/OT that helped them regain strength and return home. The small, 33-bed place is spotless and well-kept (a bit dated), with a true family atmosphere-nurses, aides, therapists and activities staff know names, communicate proactively, and go above and beyond. A few cosmetic/dietary and billing/privacy wrinkles remain, but overall the compassionate, professional care is exceptional.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is strongly positive, with a clear and consistent emphasis on the quality and compassion of the direct-care staff. Multiple reviewers describe Clover Rest Home as having exceptional, caring, family-like personnel — nurses, nurse aides, therapists, activities and kitchen staff are repeatedly praised for being attentive, compassionate, and personally engaged. The facility’s small size (reported as a 33-bed home) is frequently framed as an advantage: reviews highlight personalized attention, staff continuity, and staff who remember residents’ names and treat them with dignity. Many reviewers credit Clover’s therapy teams (PT and OT) and nursing staff with meaningful rehabilitation gains, improved mobility and eating, and even successful discharges back home. Words and phrases that recur include “CAN-DO attitude,” “stellar nursing team,” “top therapy department,” and “Small Home, Big Heart,” indicating a strong institutional culture around rehabilitation and resident-centered care.

Staffing and care practices receive the most commendation. Reviewers commonly note proactive family communication, regular updates, and discharge planning, along with an activities coordinator who runs engaging programs and a kitchen staff that delivers home-style meals. Multiple accounts describe a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere where staff go above and beyond routine duties — helping residents regain strength, offering emotional support, and advocating for residents’ needs. Several reviews specifically contrast Clover’s performance favorably against other facilities where initial rehab experiences failed; Clover is credited with restoring dignity, strength, and confidence in those cases.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, several consistent caveats and a few serious outlier complaints appear in the reviews. The building is described repeatedly as older or cosmetically dated; while many say it is well-kept and clean, others suggest cosmetic upgrades or rethink of certain areas (notably the dietary area). Dietary concerns are mentioned more than once — some reviewers praise home-style food, while a small number raise concerns about sugary offerings for diabetic residents and suggest a need for dietary oversight or menu adjustments. Similarly, most reviews laud the therapy program, yet a few report ineffective PT, weakened mobility, or a perception that the facility is not suitable for very high-acuity, fully bedridden residents. This mixed feedback suggests that outcomes may vary by individual case, baseline health status, or possibly by staffing at particular times.

There are a few serious negative reports that appear isolated but noteworthy. One or more reviews allege poor care quality at times, with claims of staff bullying, threats related to payment, and unauthorized use of a resident’s likeness in advertising — along with stress around Medicaid or payment timing. These are significant concerns that differ sharply from the majority of praise and should be investigated by prospective families. In addition, a few reviewers describe inconsistency in staff quality or report feeling uneasy about leaving a loved one there, indicating that experiences might not be uniformly excellent for every resident or shift.

In sum, the dominant pattern in the reviews paints Clover Rest Home as a small, clean, and tightly knit facility with exceptionally compassionate and competent direct-care and therapy teams that produce many successful rehabilitation outcomes and high family satisfaction. The principal weaknesses to probe further are the facility’s older appearance, occasional staffing or consistency concerns, dietary management for residents with specific needs (e.g., diabetes), and the few but serious allegations about billing practices and privacy. Prospective residents and families would benefit from an in-person tour to inspect the physical environment, direct conversations with nursing and therapy leadership about staffing ratios and therapy schedules, review of dietary policies for medical diets, and clear explanations of payment and privacy policies to ensure their expectations align with the experiences described in these reviews.

    About Clover Rest Home

Clover Rest Home sits in a quiet neighborhood along the Delaware River in New Jersey, and because it's a smaller place with the capacity for only 33 residents, it feels more home-like and personal, and people tend to notice when someone's having a rough day or isn't acting quite like themselves. The staff pays attention to each resident's personal needs, offering a mix of health care and personal care, with help available for things like bathing, dressing, and managing medicines. The facility has set up the environment to make it easier for people with dementia, including efforts to reduce confusion and stop wandering, which is something that often worries families. Residents can take part in recreational therapy programs and other activities, which helps pass the time and keeps minds and bodies active. Clover Rest Home handles both long-term care and shorter stays, providing services like subacute care, wound care, IV therapy, and rehabilitation with physical, speech, and occupational therapists right in the building, and they know how to care for common chronic illnesses like diabetes and COPD. The place feels cozy, with a family-like atmosphere, and the small number of residents helps keep things friendly and familiar. The facility uses a "boutique skilled nursing" approach, offers specialized memory care, and has a Covid Outbreak Plan in place for safety. There's onsite vascular care available too. Reviews so far give the home an average rating of 3.7 out of 5, based on six people, so while it's not perfect, it's known as a steady and trusted option for senior living.
