    Resort-style living with exceptional care

We couldn't be happier - the gorgeous, resort-style building and scenic grounds feel like home with spacious, cruise-ship-like apartments. The staff are warm, kind and go above and beyond (managers live on-site); we truly feel spoiled. Dining is excellent - three healthy, delicious meals, great portions and 24/7 snacks - and abundant activities (live music, ukulele, poker, dance fitness, outings) banished our loneliness. All-inclusive services, on-site shop/pharmacy/salon, transportation and quick issue resolution made moving here the best decision we ever made; we highly recommend it.

    About Parkers Bend Retirement Community

Parkers Bend Retirement Community sits on a big 47-acre property with lots of trees and open land, and you can spot the brick and stone entrance sign right away when you drive up, and there's a peaceful, well-kept look to the place that makes it feel separate from busier neighborhoods even though it's close to good restaurants, parks, and entertainment. The community lets in people starting at age 55, and there are many living options, like independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home services, and even in-home care for those who prefer to stay home, which is nice since people need different things as they get older and sometimes those needs change. The building's pretty new, only about two years old if you're counting, so the spaces feel fresh, and the apartments come in different sizes, from studios to three bedrooms, between 566 and over 1200 square feet, and every unit's got private bathrooms, walk-in closets, patios or balconies, full-size appliances, cable TV, phone, Wi-Fi, and there's even more storage than you'd think. Some people sure enjoy the pet-friendly policies, because you can have your small companion with you without paying an extra deposit, and that helps folks feel at home.

There's a strong feeling of community here, with a friendly staff, cheerful residents, and live-in managers you'll see around most times of day and night, always willing to help if anything happens. People say the staff are joyful and helpful, making visitors and newcomers feel right at home, and the safety system includes 24/7 emergency call buttons in every room, plus on-site professionals and a security-minded setup. The community works on an all-inclusive month-to-month system covering everything-utilities, cable, phone, internet, meals, and services-in one bill, and you don't have to sign a long-term lease or put down a big buy-in fee, so it eases a lot of big decisions. There's a standout dining program called Signature Freedom Dining where you get three chef-prepared meals every day with flexible hours, and food's made to order, so you eat what you like, and you can choose restaurant style, to-go, or even use the chef's pantry for snacks and basics, which is handy if you get hungry late at night or on weekends.

Around the common areas, you'll see a lot of spaces to sit with friends and neighbors, including a 150-seat theater for movies and live shows, a library, billiards, a business center, and a lounge with a bar and flat-screen TV, plus outdoor gardens and walking trails. Some folks love the fitness center which is stocked with equipment, and classes like aerobics, yoga, weight lifting, or walking clubs mean there's usually something to do for people trying to keep moving. The place has a beauty salon and barber on-site, a general store, mini-drugstore, computer lab, and even a coffee shop for those who enjoy an easy chat in the morning. There's a full calendar of activities thanks to a dedicated Lifestyle Director, so whether you're into arts and crafts, book clubs, bridge, poker, field trips, concerts, lectures, or just want to join a walking club, you can fill your week without going off-site if you don't want to.

The facility runs scheduled transportation for group outings or personal errands and valet parking if you or your guests need it, and there's even a travel program that lets residents visit other Resort Lifestyle Communities locations, so if someone wants a change of scenery, there's a guest suite with meals waiting somewhere else. Housekeeping and laundry are handled weekly, there's pharmacy services and therapies like physical rehab, and health needs get managed closely. Special diets-low salt, low fat, vegetarian, diabetic, kosher, and others-are no trouble, and the place is busy with social programs, so it doesn't feel lonely. Staff speak English, Spanish, French, German, and American Sign Language, so folks from different backgrounds usually have someone to talk to or help out.

Overall, Parkers Bend Retirement Community tries to create a safe, social, and comfortable environment for older adults with a wide range of needs, friendly faces, plenty to do, and easy ways to get help. The spacious apartments, clean grounds, active programs, and steady services-plus little things like free guest rooms for family and pets allowed-show a lot of thought has gone into making daily life easier and more fun. Community reviews are very positive, with people most often mentioning the food, the helpful staff, and the chance to stay active and social at a pace that suits them.
