    Warm attentive staff and care

I'm extremely satisfied with Clover Hill. The staff are warm, attentive, and personal - Maryanne is available 24/7 and the team is responsive with immediate emergency care - so my loved one is safe and well cared for. The community is small and homey, spotless and peaceful, with spacious rooms, an organic garden, lots of activities, and restaurant-quality, varied meals from Chef David. Great communication with family and an extended-family atmosphere - I highly recommend Clover Hill.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Clover Hill Senior Living are overwhelmingly positive and highly consistent. Recurring themes across multiple summaries emphasize a small, intimate facility where residents receive personalized, compassionate attention. Families repeatedly describe the environment as safe, calm, and home-like, with many calling it a close-knit or extended-family atmosphere. Several reviewers explicitly say their relatives are happier at Clover Hill than at previous facilities, and many conclude by strongly recommending the community.

Care quality and staff: The single strongest theme is the quality and responsiveness of the staff and management. Multiple summaries call the staff attentive, caring, professional, and compassionate; reviewers emphasize staff who go the extra mile and provide personal, hands-on care at all hours. Leadership visibility and accessibility are highlighted repeatedly — notably an executive director (named in several reviews) who is described as available 24/7 — which reinforces perceptions of proactive management. Reviewers also point to a favorable staff-to-resident ratio, timely communication with families, and strong emergency responsiveness including hospital visit support.

Facilities and cleanliness: Physical facilities receive high marks. Descriptions include recently renovated, immaculate interiors and spotless resident rooms. Common areas are characterized as upscale yet homey, and specific amenities mentioned across reviews include a movie/theater room, outdoor porch, organic garden, arts & crafts room, beauty parlor, and a small gym. Large, private rooms with private bathrooms and the option to bring personal furniture are repeatedly noted, contributing to residents’ sense of comfort and dignity.

Dining and culinary program: Dining is another standout. Many reviews single out an executive/culinary-institute-trained chef (named in several comments) and describe meals as restaurant-quality, varied, and well received by residents. Extras such as chef demonstrations, cooking events, and special meals are mentioned as differentiators that enhance resident satisfaction. The culinary program appears to be a central selling point and a frequent reason families praise the community.

Activities and social life: Reviewers report an active social calendar with daily activities, arts and crafts, bingo nights, and communal dining. The small size of the community is generally seen as a benefit for socialization — fostering friendships and frequent interaction — though a small number of reviewers note they would like even more activities or variety. Overall, residents are described as active, social, and smiling, and the facility’s programming is viewed as engaging.

Management, communication, and value: Management and communication are repeatedly praised for being responsive and personal. Families note regular updates and a willingness to work with relatives. While one thread of feedback mentions higher cost, many reviewers explicitly say that the price reflects good value, citing the high level of care, cleanliness, amenities, and chef-driven dining as justifying the cost. A few reviewers, however, label cost as a consideration for prospective families.

Notable criticisms and limitations: Negative comments are scarce and minor in scope. The most frequently cited drawback is cost — in some summaries described as higher — though that concern is often tempered by the assessment that Clover Hill delivers good value. A specific complaint about the TV system appears in a few reviews. Finally, while most reviewers praise the activities program, a small number asked for additional or more varied activities.

Summary assessment: Taken together, the reviews portray Clover Hill as a well-run, clean, and welcoming small senior living community with particularly strong strengths in staff responsiveness, visible leadership, an excellent culinary program, and comfortable, upgraded facilities. The community is consistently described as offering personalized care in a safe and social environment. Prospective residents and families seeking a smaller, attentive setting with high-quality meals and strong management responsiveness are likely to view Clover Hill favorably. Those for whom cost is a primary constraint should weigh the higher price notes against the broadly reported value in care and amenities. Overall, the aggregated sentiment is highly positive with only minor operational items noted for improvement (TV system and occasional requests for more activities).

    About Clover Hill Senior Living

Clover Hill Senior Living sits on a quiet and private estate in North Haledon, New Jersey, offering assisted living, independent living, memory care, and nursing care in one place. The building has almost 10,000 square feet with large, private suites that look and feel like a real home, and folks can bring their own furniture and decorations if they want. The rooms have big windows, vaulted ceilings, sliding barn doors, private bathrooms, and plenty of space to move about, which feels peaceful when the sun comes through. Staff and Personal Care Assistants support each person at a 6-to-1 ratio and provide help with daily routines like bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication.

Residents get a mix of care that mixes regular help with health-focused extras, like chef-prepared meals that use local vegetables and anti-inflammatory choices, plus programs meant to boost well-being through diet, sleep, and clean air. The place keeps things safer with 24-hour security, nurse coverage day and night, handicap-friendly spaces, and state-of-the-art security monitoring.

Clover Hill has no pets allowed and takes an entry fee of $3,000. It offers extras like a beauty salon, an enclosed courtyard with space for fresh air, a large front porch, and a cozy lounge with warm lighting and nice recliners. There's a full-time activity director running hands-on programs such as art classes, movie nights, and devotional services at the estate, as well as outings and local field trips. The community's A.S.P.I.R.E. for Life programming brings educational masterclasses, group events, games, and global touring experiences, so older adults can keep their minds active and make new friends. People are encouraged to keep up with hobbies and even try new ones, with plenty of support along the way.

Chef-prepared meals get served daily, and guests can join for meals. The home sits near St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and close to pharmacies like CVS and parks for getting outside. For those who need it, transportation's available for errands or doctor's appointments. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen cleaning get taken care of by staff. There's a movie theater on-site, and plenty of chances for both quiet time and social time.

Clover Hill Senior Living stands out as a boutique-style place, smaller and more personal than big apartment-like facilities, and the staff pays close attention to making everyone feel known and comfortable. Its elegant touches-hardwood floors, modern bathrooms, and inviting entryways-create a homey setting. Zoning laws in New Jersey make small communities rare, so Clover Hill's style is a bit different from most, aiming for a familiar, Bed & Breakfast feeling more than a hotel. The care plans here get tailored to each person, and residents find a supportive environment to live as independently as possible with help always nearby.
