    Filthy unsafe facility, avoid families

I lived here and it was horrible - filthy rooms, strong odor, flies and roaches, cold food every day, no real health checks, kitchen staff handing out meds, and I witnessed staff misuse resident checks to buy cars. A few residents socialize and Alicia (case manager) was a standout, but overall this place is a dump, not suitable for families - think twice.

    Summary review

The reviews for Parkview Home For Adults present a sharply mixed picture, with a substantial number of serious concerns balanced against a smaller but vocal set of positive impressions. Major negative themes include hygiene and facility condition, care quality and safety, and allegations of financial or administrative misconduct. On the other hand, several reviews single out staff members — particularly a case manager named Alicia — as compassionate and effective, and some residents report a positive social environment and an overall enjoyable living experience.

Care quality and resident wellbeing are central points of contention. Multiple reviewers assert that residents are not receiving adequate health checks or monitoring, and describe instances that suggest potential neglect. There are explicit allegations that kitchen staff have been involved in giving out medication, which raises significant safety and regulatory red flags. Related to care concerns are reports that residents require substantial assistance but are not consistently getting appropriate support. These criticisms suggest variability or inconsistency in caregiving standards and potential lapses in policy or training.

Staff and interpersonal environment are described in contradictory terms. Several reviews call staff "wonderful," "polite," "courteous," and "helpful," and one reviewer specifically praises Alicia, a case manager, as a standout. These comments indicate that some employees provide attentive, humane care and that certain residents experience meaningful, positive interactions. Conversely, other reviewers accuse staff of mistreating residents and even misusing resident checks to buy cars, which, if accurate, would indicate serious ethical and possibly criminal issues. The reviews therefore point to a split experience — some staff or shifts may be strong while others are problematic.

Facility condition, cleanliness, and dining are recurring negative themes. Multiple summaries mention flies and roaches, a strong odor, and rooms described as "gross" or in such poor condition that demolition is suggested. Dining complaints are specific and recurring: cold food is said to be served every day. Taken together, these reports indicate systemic sanitation and maintenance failures that affect daily life and resident comfort, and could have implications for health and regulatory compliance.

Activities and social life receive limited but positive comment. A subset of reviewers say they like the place, enjoy social interaction with other residents, and describe the community as "amazing". This suggests that, despite environmental and care concerns, the facility may provide opportunities for social engagement that enhance quality of life for some residents.

Management, oversight, and reputation concerns emerge from the reviews as well. Accusations of financial misuse (resident checks used to buy cars) and calls that the facility "should be shut down" reveal deep trust issues among some reviewers. The juxtaposition of strong praise for individual staff members with serious allegations about care quality and misconduct points toward possible problems in management, oversight, training, or staff consistency — for example, dependable employees working alongside inadequate systems or negligent personnel.

Overall sentiment is polarized. For prospective residents or families, these reviews indicate both possible positive aspects (helpful staff, social community, standout employees) and substantial, concrete risks (pest infestations, cold food, inadequate health monitoring, improper medication handling, cleanliness and facility decay, and allegations of financial or ethical misconduct). The balance of complaints suggests more severe and actionable problems than minor inconveniences. Anyone considering Parkview Home For Adults should conduct careful, in-person inspections, ask to see recent health and safety inspection reports and complaint histories, speak directly with current residents and families, verify staff training and medication procedures, and confirm how management responds to reported issues.
