    Warm staff, poor administration, unsafe

I moved my mom here and have mixed feelings. The staff are warm, hands-on and attentive, the meals are homemade and plentiful, activities and transportation are excellent, and the apartments are spacious and comfortable - the social transition was easy. But administration is terrible: an aggressive director, poor communication, frequent billing/insurance disputes, and a for-profit attitude that shirked accountability. We experienced medication errors, unmet care promises, understaffing that risked neglect and safety, and they weren't licensed to provide certain mobility assistance or share needed follow-up data. If you want a lively, apartment-style community for a low-need, independent senior, this can be great; if you need reliable medical care, transparent billing, and accountable management, look elsewhere.

    About The Hearth at Greenpoint

The Hearth at Greenpoint has many services for seniors, offering assisted living, memory care, nursing home support, and independent living, and since it's a continuing care retirement community folks can stay as their needs change, sometimes starting out in an independent apartment and getting more help over time if they need it, and there's even short-term respite stays and adult day care if someone's just visiting. There's a community manager who leads daily operations and professionally trained staff who help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, and there's licensed nurses on-site around the clock for extra peace of mind, so even those who need more health care, speech, occupational, or physical therapy have support nearby. Residents live in studio apartments with full kitchens, and they don't have to worry about things like heat, electricity, or weekly housekeeping since those are taken care of, and laundry rooms, a fitness center, and salon make it easy to take care of daily needs right on-site. People can enjoy eating together in a bright, set dining room with chef-prepared meals, including vegetarian options, while staff help make sure everyone gets the right nutrition. For social folks there's a big activity room with a piano and projector, fireside lounges, library, well-lit common areas, spots for intimate conversation, and even well-kept courtyards and walking paths, and it's pet-friendly so residents can bring their animals. Programs encourage seniors to stay active, with daily on-site and offsite events, life enrichment activities, and scheduled transportation to appointments or outings. The facility stays connected with families using popular Meta platforms like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads, helping people feel engaged and supported. Customized care plans make sure each resident has help that matches their personal tastes, while amenities like restaurant-style dining, fitness and wellness programs, and beautiful grounds all support healthy aging, independence, and friendship among people who live there, and there are devotional services held offsite for anyone interested.
