    Warm staff delicious customizable food

I'm a long-term resident and very happy here: the staff are warm, professional and genuinely caring, the food is delicious and customizable, and there are daily activities, strong social opportunities and a huge year-round indoor pool. The facility is clean, safe and welcoming with large, comfortable apartments and a solid continuum of care; admin can be hard to reach at first but is responsive once contacted. Great value - I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on compassionate, attentive staff and a broad array of amenities and activities that keep residents engaged and comfortable. Reviewers consistently highlight the warmth and empathy of caregivers — from front-desk and administrative personnel through floor staff and nurses — describing them as welcoming, humorous, and supportive. Many comments single out the facility's ability to provide emotional, physical and behavioral support, and families frequently note that staff help residents settle into the new home and maintain good communication about changing needs. The community is characterized as safe, family-like, and clean, with residents and families often recommending the Terrace at The Glen as a good decision for independent living and longer-term residency.

Care quality and responsiveness: Reviews depict consistently strong day-to-day care and supportive staff across departments. Multiple reviewers praised management and the responsiveness of staff after initial contact; many families report that health concerns were handled with care and that staff coordinate ongoing needs. There are positive mentions of medical care and overall safety, and the presence of a continuum of care (independent living with access to higher levels) is noted as a major benefit that aligns with residents' aging goals. A minority of reviews raise concerns about hospital coordination during transitions of care — indicating that while internal care is highly regarded, external coordination with hospitals or other medical providers may sometimes be less consistent.

Staff and culture: The staff culture comes through as a central strength. Descriptions such as "welcoming," "compassionate," and "going out of their way" appear repeatedly. Residents report quick social integration, ease making friends, and staff that actively encourage participation in activities. Families emphasize that staff provide emotional support and treat residents with dignity and humor. Several reviewers specifically commend the administrative staff for being informative and non-intrusive in their follow-up. However, a pattern emerges where administration can be "hard to reach" at times, though many note responsiveness after contact is made. The overall impression is of a caring, engaged team that fosters a familial atmosphere.

Facilities and amenities: The Terrace at The Glen is described as a beautiful, well-kept campus with mountain views and attractive indoor and outdoor spaces. Reviewers praise cleanliness and maintenance, and call out large comfortable apartments. The facility is expanding and adding significant amenities — notably a large indoor, year-round pool and larger apartment options — which residents and families see as positives. Some reviewers caution that the size and activity level of the community can be overwhelming for residents who would prefer a smaller, quieter setting; one reviewer explicitly said their parent would have been confused by the scale. Early-stage expansion and the fact that some offerings are still rolling out lead to mentions of growing pains, but most feedback treats the developments as beneficial.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is a consistently strong theme. Many reviewers call the food "wonderful," "gourmet," and "delicious," with daily variety and options for meal customization. Formal ratings in some summaries give meals top marks, and families appreciate that dietary needs are addressed. A small number of comments note that food has been in the process of improvement, but those are framed as in-progress and not pervasive criticisms.

Activities and social life: The community's social programming receives high praise for variety and depth. Reviews list lectures, concerts, exercise classes, trivia, card and poker games, crafts, movies, and other daily programs that keep residents engaged and active. Resident board involvement and opportunities for leadership are highlighted, and reviewers frequently report that their loved ones quickly integrated into groups and made friends. The activity offerings contribute to perceptions of excellent value for money and a lively, fulfilling daily life.

Administration, communication, and logistics: Administrative responsiveness is generally viewed positively — many reviewers describe informative tours, non-intrusive follow-up, and helpful move-in assistance. A recurring minor complaint is that administrative staff can be hard to reach initially, though responders note that staff become responsive after contact. Several families praised communication about residents' needs, while a few raised specific concerns about external coordination (for example, hospital transitions). Availability issues were also mentioned: at least one reviewer noted no respite openings when inquiring, which could indicate limited short-term availability at times.

Notable patterns and overall recommendation: The reviews form a consistent pattern of high satisfaction: friendly, competent staff; clean and attractive facilities; varied programming; strong dining; and a safe, home-like environment. Common trade-offs noted by reviewers are the community's relatively large size (which can be too much for residents preferring a smaller setting), occasional initial difficulty reaching administrative staff, the community's distance for some families, and occasional logistical issues with hospital coordination or short-term openings. Many reviewers emphasize the Terrace at The Glen as good value for money, and the overall tone is one of enthusiastic recommendation from residents and families alike. For prospective residents, the community appears particularly well suited to those who want an active social life, robust programming, and a continuum of care; those seeking a very small, quiet setting or guaranteed immediate respite availability might want to ask targeted questions during a tour.

In summary, the strengths—compassionate and engaged staff, excellent dining, diverse activities, well-maintained facilities, and a clear continuum of care—far outweigh the relatively limited and solvable concerns mentioned. The Terrace at The Glen is repeatedly described as a safe, welcoming, and enriching place to live, with many families and long-term residents expressing high satisfaction and strong recommendations.
