    Beautiful facility, costly staffing concerns

I moved my mom into The Brielle and overall we're relieved - beautiful, brand-new, woodsy grounds and clean, spacious rooms, restaurant-quality dining, excellent on-site therapy and nonstop activities; the executive team and most staff have been attentive, responsive and made the move-in smooth. That said it's expensive (sign-up and extra fees, price hikes), staffing shortages mean aides can be slow or abrupt, and we've seen occasional medication/communication lapses and very limited supplies (only towels/toilet paper provided). In short: great facility and caring people, but read the contract carefully and be mindful of staffing and med safety.

    About The Brielle

The Brielle sits on a peaceful 10-acre campus with natural wooded areas where residents see lots of wildlife and enjoy outdoor patios and walking paths, and the setting offers a quiet place with beautiful grounds while still staying near hospitals, museums, zoos, golf courses, beaches, and parks all across Staten Island and New York City. The Brielle provides different living options for seniors, including independent living for active people, assisted living with help for daily needs like bathing and dressing, and memory care for people living with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia using the Heartfelt CONNECTIONS - A Memory Care Program®, which creates a safe routine to reduce confusion and wandering, and there are several floor plans like studio, one-bedroom, and companion suites for both Assisted Living and Memory Care so people can choose what fits best. There are residential care homes that are shared neighborhood houses with live-in caregivers who help with daily activities, and there's also home care where trained aides come to people's homes for companionship and non-medical support, plus flexible personal care plans are all included with one monthly fee to make things simpler.

The Brielle's staff works hard to help residents feel safe and cared for, and their focus is on the well-being of everyone living there, with daily programs and activities meant to keep people active, healthy, and happy, including support for physical and mental health, along with good meals cooked with quality ingredients, menu options for vitamin and mineral needs, and on-site hair and nail services for convenience, and personalized schedules take into account what each resident wants and needs. There are regular events, business networking, and community engagement opportunities, plus The Brielle gets involved in neighborhood programs and supports local elected officials, and helps veterans with a VETS Discount as well as small businesses with programs like Verizon Small Business Digital Ready, the Wagner College MBA Program Discount, and an IT Training program, and people can look for jobs including youth education on their Job Board and use the Member Marketplace and Discount Center for extras.

Residents use a portal to talk with staff, manage memberships, or join business guilds and committees, making it easier to stay in touch or get involved, and the facility holds tours to let people see daily life, meals, and activities before making a decision. The Brielle stands as a state-of-the-art, non-profit community recognized with the Best of Senior Living Award and Best of Senior Living All Star Award for care, activities, and friendliness, and families of residents give high review scores for the quality care and responsive, caring staff who try to make life comfortable for everyone. The Brielle offers support and reliable peace of mind, and it's always aiming to keep life both simple and full for the people who call it home.
