    Caring staff, pleasant but expensive

I placed my mom in this older, spotless house - the open common areas and backyard deck with barbecues are pleasant and there's a Sunday service. Flory, her caregiver, lights up the room; my mom bonded quickly, is eating and looking much better, and the family caregivers provide attentive, 24-hour emotional support. It's well-equipped and friendly but expensive, with few activities, no community TV, and very small, outdated bedrooms (no half baths) - my mom doesn't want to be alone in her room.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive about the quality of personal care and the cleanliness of the home, while raising consistent concerns about the physical condition of the building, limited activities, and cost. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize that the facility is very clean or spotless and well-equipped. The home is described as pleasant, with open and accessible common areas and a welcoming, family-like atmosphere.

Care quality and staff are the strongest themes. Caregivers are described as capable, friendly, attentive, and emotionally supportive. One caregiver in particular, Flory, is singled out as exceptional — reviewers note that residents bonded quickly with Flory, that she "lights up the room," and that her presence led to measurable improvements like better eating and an overall healthier appearance. The facility offers 24-hour care, and reviewers highlight the warmth and emotional support provided by staff, which contributes to residents feeling comfortable and cared for.

Facility features receive mixed feedback. On the positive side, the house has open, accessible common areas that encourage interaction, a backyard deck with barbecues and snacks, and a Sunday service that adds a spiritual/social option. The environment is described as nice and friendly, and reviewers say the home is well-equipped for residents' needs. On the negative side, the building is repeatedly characterized as older and dated. Bedrooms are noted to be very small, some lacking half baths, and a few rooms are described as "not in good shape." There is also mention of no community TV, which limits communal entertainment options and suggests fewer built-in opportunities for group socializing.

Activities and social life appear limited. Multiple reviewers state that there are not a lot of activities, and the absence of a community TV and small private rooms may contribute to residents not wanting to stay alone in their rooms. While the common areas and backyard allow for social interaction, the lack of organized activities or entertainment options is a clear gap identified by reviewers and a potential source of boredom or isolation for residents who spend time in their rooms.

Cost and value are another recurring concern. Reviewers describe the facility as expensive. Given the praise for caregiving and cleanliness, families may find the care quality and emotional support worth the price, particularly when a strong caregiver match like Flory exists. However, the combination of high cost with an older building, small rooms, limited activities, and some rooms in poor condition raises questions about value for money for prospective residents who prioritize modern facilities, private bathroom access, or a robust activities program.

In summary, Flory Adult Care is consistently praised for its high-touch caregiving, cleanliness, and warm, family-style atmosphere. The presence of standout caregivers and 24-hour attentive care are major strengths that lead to improved resident wellbeing. The main trade-offs are the physical condition of the property (older house, small rooms, missing half baths in bedrooms), limited organized activities and communal entertainment, and relatively high cost. Families considering this home should weigh the importance of compassionate, hands-on staff and a spotless environment against the need for updated rooms, more activities, and private bathroom amenities. If personal caregiver fit and emotional support are priorities, the facility appears very strong; if facility modernity, larger private rooms, or more social programming are higher priorities, these are areas where the home may fall short.

    About Flory Adult Care

Flory Adult Care sits on NW Perimeter Dr in Beaverton, Oregon, right in a calm neighborhood with tall, green trees and places to walk nearby, like parks and shops, which gives a pleasant feeling for the people living there, and the house is set up to look and feel like home, not like a big institution or hospital, with room for up to five adults at a time. Staff at Flory Adult Care are trained and there at all hours, so they can help with bathing, grooming, dressing wounds, giving medicine, handling incontinence, and working with feeding tubes if needed, plus they do the housekeeping and make sure everyone gets healthy meals and snacks that fit specific nutritional needs, since they know each resident might need something a bit different. The setting means residents can have privacy but also join in structured activities or relax both indoors and in the fresh air outside. The caregivers work hard to keep life both busy and peaceful, offering activities to bring joy but also respecting quiet times, and they stay focused on helping each person stay as independent as possible while stepping in when a little more help is needed, whether that means assisted living, memory care, home healthcare, hospice support, or more steady nursing care. They have wheelchair accessible showers for those who need it, and everything's aimed at making daily life easier and safer while giving a sense of community and support.
