    About Hope N Care

Hope N Care offers elderly care services in a residential care home setting at 12045 SE Pardee St, Portland, right in the Powellhurst Gilbert neighborhood, and when you walk through the place you'll see photos of the bedrooms, dining areas, hallways, and outdoor spaces that give a pretty clear picture of everyday life there, especially with a dedicated Hope N Care wing and an Asa Care wing that each have their own feel, and throughout the home you'll see 60 private rooms-some with no bathroom, some with a half bathroom, and some with a full bathroom-so you get a choice depending on what suits you best. Robert and Linda Asa have owned and operated this place since 1994, having expanded from just 8 to 40 rooms over the years, and they're present daily, making sure residents get personalized, high levels of care alongside Administrators, Facility Nurses, Operating Managers, activity coordinators, med-aides, and housekeepers. The staff do things like skin care and daily assessments, diabetic care with insulin and CBG checks, assistance lifting and transferring, incontinence and catheter care, as well as support for those needing help with dressing, bathing, transfers, and managing memory care for dementia.

If you need special help, they know how to give two-person assistance for daily activities and behavioral intervention for folks who might need it, always focusing on keeping everyone safe, and there's always 24-hour onsite staff with call systems and as much as 16 hours of nursing care a day. Meals are prepared fresh, offering both Asian and American choices, and if you need low salt, soft diets, pureed food, tube feeding, hand feeding, diabetic or renal meals, those are offered too, with a professional chef and even a family meal plan if relatives want to eat on site. There's a unique Chinese elder care program with language and cultural options for Chinese-speaking residents, as well as a multiracial community with caregivers who, at least in part, speak English and can serve a variety of dietary and communication needs, and you can see photos of staff in blue and red shirts in the gallery along with clear pictures of the kitchen, bedrooms, dining hall, halls, exterior, and staff.

Inside you'll find all the basic comforts for seniors, such as emergency alert systems, air conditioning, cable TV (including Chinese and Comcast digital channels), Wi-Fi, move-in coordination, and concierge help, with rooms that let you bring your own belongings and amenities like a kitchen, community lounge, and outdoor walking paths plus a community garden, lounge areas, a game room, fitness room, restaurant-style dining, movie theater, spa, sauna, musical and arts activity rooms, and daily social programs-sometimes that includes musicians, animal visits, flower planting, movie nights, and more, encouraging residents to stay active if they wish. Housecleaning and laundry, including dry cleaning, are handled by staff, and medication is managed by specially trained Med Techs in coordination with doctors and pharmacy partners, and they've even got transportation and parking if needed.

Hope N Care runs two main facilities, one remodeled in 2003 and the newest built in 2011, both designed for comfort and safety with private, secure hospice care rooms, a focus on dignity and respect, and a policy that lets people age-in-place even if they require more intensive care over time. The community doesn't specify details about utilities, pets, or exterior features, but the focus is clearly on providing full-time, compassionate help and a home-like environment that suits the needs of seniors, those experiencing memory issues, or people facing behavioral, medical, or special care needs, and it really lets families and residents schedule tours or personalized care programs if they're considering moving into a place where care and respect come first.
