    Happy resident in small community

I'm completely happy here - it's a small community with nice residents and friendly, very good staff who help with medications, provide meals and even run bingo. I have a two-bedroom apartment with a bathroom, there've been no COVID cases, and while the facilities are a bit dated, it's well run.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility presents as a small, home-like personal care setting with basic apartment-style housing and hands-on assistance for daily needs. Review content highlights consistent features — two-bedroom units with private bathrooms, functional furnishings, on-site meals, and staff involvement in medication administration — that suit residents seeking a less institutional environment. Several reviewers expressed satisfaction with staff demeanor and the friendliness of the resident community.

Care and staffing: Clinical-support elements appear straightforward: staff assist with medications and are described by multiple reviewers as personable and helpful. At the same time, accounts vary on staff engagement beyond core tasks. Some reviewers characterize staff behavior as more lax, especially with regard to nonclinical interaction and oversight. This creates a mixed picture: reliable assistance for baseline care needs but inconsistent engagement in activities and enrichment that contribute to overall resident well-being.

Dining: Meal service is provided onsite and is presented as a standard component of the offering. Reviewers did not emphasize problems with food logistics; the presence of daily meals is noted as an operational strength. There is limited detail about menu variety, dining environment, or special-diet handling in the available summaries.

Activities and quality of life: Programming appears limited in scope. Bingo is explicitly mentioned as an available activity, but several reviewers describe few additional offerings and low staff involvement in activities, resulting in perceived shortfalls in resident engagement. The pattern suggests the facility maintains basic social programming but may not provide a robust schedule of enrichment or individualized recreational options.

Facilities and environment: The physical plant is described as functional and fully equipped, with generally pleasant rooms, albeit small. At the same time, reviewers describe the facilities as dated, indicating cosmetic or infrastructure aging that could affect aesthetic comfort. The unit sizes and smaller rooms may be a constraint for residents seeking more spacious private living areas.

Management and notable patterns: Feedback is mixed: some families and residents report being completely satisfied, citing friendly staff and a comfortable small-community feel; others raise concerns about staff oversight and the limited activity environment. An element noted positively is the low COVID incidence cited by reviewers, which may reflect effective infection-control practices. Taken together, the pattern indicates a facility that reliably provides core personal-care services in a small, familiar setting but may have operational gaps in engagement programming, living-space size, and facility modernization that prospective residents and families should evaluate in person.

About Personal Care at Blue Ridge

Personal Care at Blue Ridge sits in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, in a single-story building designed for safety and easy movement, with tranquil and scenic views that help keep things peaceful for the residents, and you see that right away when you walk in, because folks live either in private rooms or semi-private rooms, and the place only has 16 units, so it stays small and manageable. Residents get a pet-friendly environment where cats and dogs are welcome, and they don't need to worry about chores because the staff takes care of laundry, cleaning, and meals, serving up one or two prepared meals every day, with easy options for those with specific food needs, including diabetic care.

There's always someone on-site, since the facility has 24-hour staffing for supervision and nursing care, covering those who need help with daily activities like dressing, bathing, or managing medications, and they also provide skilled nursing, memory care, and general healthcare services, so someone with Alzheimer's can get specialized memory care while others use respite care for a short break or recovery. Folks can join a wide range of activities arranged on-site or offsite, and they also have devotional services for those who want them, plus indoor common areas for group events or just a quiet place to sit, and the staff helps schedule trips and transportation for doctors or errands, making it easier since there's also parking and a transportation system for those who still drive or families that visit often.

Personal Care at Blue Ridge works with personalized care plans for every resident, aiming to tailor support as people's needs change, whether that's dealing with incontinence, needing help if you can't walk much, or setting up special therapeutic programs, and all these services are wrapped up in all-inclusive pricing, so families know what to expect. The apartments feel more like a home, with options for independent living for those who want to stay active but might need a hand now and then, and there's a strong sense of community since the location serves the Plain Community and offers services in more than one language. Visitors are welcome to tour the facility and meet staff and residents, which helps families feel at ease with the surroundings. Blue Ridge stands as a licensed personal care home in Pennsylvania, with resources for long-term care, family caregivers, and options for insurance guidance, keeping things straightforward for those who just want a safe and friendly place to call home for themselves or their loved ones.
