    Longtime employee praises supportive community

I've worked at Country Meadows near Enola, PA for 12 years and love the family-owned, community feel. Staff are dedicated, welcoming, and highly skilled across care, activities, dining and more; leadership is trustworthy and follows through. Beautiful campus, strong bonds with residents and families, plenty of growth and variety - a great place to work and recommend.

    Summary of reviews

    Summary

Overall impression: The reviews present Country Meadows as a workplace and care community with a strong, resident-focused culture and a family-owned identity. Many remarks emphasize staff dedication, a collaborative team atmosphere, and long employee tenure—factors that contribute to continuity of care and strong interpersonal bonds between staff, residents, and families. The corporate leadership is described as reliable and follow-through oriented, and employees highlight opportunities for learning, cross-training, and career development.

Care and staff: Care quality is framed positively in the reviews: staff are characterized as caring, energetic, and committed to residents. Multiple comments highlight close relationships between caregivers and residents as well as healthy teamwork among coworkers. At the operational level, reviewers note a varied scope of responsibilities (personal care, nursing support, activities, transportation), and staff appreciation for cross-training and diverse qualifications. Areas for improvement include inconsistent responsiveness in some situations—particularly callback and follow-up communication—which may affect family interaction and timely attention to concerns.

Dining and activities: Dining receives favorable, practical descriptions: employees describe hands-on involvement in meal service (setting plates, pouring drinks, bussing) and an engaged approach to resident dining. Activity programming is described as varied and engaging, with entertainment, exercise, and transportation options noted. These elements support resident engagement and a thriving community atmosphere.

Facilities and campus: The campus appearance and common areas are described positively; reviewers use terms such as welcoming, beautiful, and pleasant. That said, there is indication of variability by location—some sites (notably one York-area review) raised service and responsiveness concerns—suggesting that facility experience may differ across campuses.

Management and organization: Leadership is generally portrayed as strong and trustworthy, with reviewers noting that management follows through on commitments. The organization is seen as supportive of career advancement and learning; internships and frequent hiring are viewed as opportunities for newcomers. However, frequent recruitment and an emphasis on always-hiring were interpreted by some as a potential signal of staffing variability. Additionally, a privacy-related concern about sharing employee experiences was mentioned, indicating room to improve transparent employee feedback channels.

Notable patterns and guidance for families: The dominant theme is a positive, family-oriented care culture with committed staff and active programming. Prospective residents and families should prioritize visiting the specific campus they are considering to assess local responsiveness, pricing, and staff interaction, since reviewers indicate some location-to-location differences. Ask site leadership about staffing stability, communication procedures for family concerns, and how employee feedback is captured and acted upon to get a clearer sense of operational consistency.
