    About Frederick Living

Frederick Living sits on 80 acres and has been serving older adults for nearly 130 years, with strong roots in Mennonite heritage and a focus on dignity and autonomy for every person, and while it's faith-based, people of all faiths are welcome; you'll find a warm, close-knit, and family-like community here where folks tend to know each other and staff behave in a friendly, helpful, and joyful way. The community works as a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community and offers a wide range of support including independent living in apartments, cottages, and villas, and maintenance-free homes so active, healthy seniors can get on with hobbies, volunteering, and a social life without worrying about repairs, and there's the Oaktree Court Apartments right at the center of things and The Meadows, a pocket neighborhood, along with the bigger options like the Cottages or Villas that give some privacy and extra room. If someone needs more support, there are things like assisted living studio or one-bedroom apartments in Magnus House and services to help with bathing, dressing, medication, and daily needs, and there's specialized care for folks with memory challenges through Aspen Village Memory Care, with activities and environments set up to limit confusion and keep people safe from wandering. They don't skip over health care, either, and for short or long term care or after a hospital stay, there's Cedarwood Health Center for rehab and skilled nursing that covers things like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and residents can get diabetic care, incontinence care, and help if they're unable to move about easily, while the campus includes an adult daycare center and offers home care with trained aides for those who still live at home but need a hand now and then. The place hosts all sorts of activities, both on and off site, from devotional gatherings to social events and wellness programs for body, mind, and spirit, and the amenities include common spaces, a library, exercise room, bank, and a chapel, plus living rooms and activity areas so there's always a way to be connected or enjoy some quiet time. Everyone gets access to nourishing meals, and cleaning and transportation are part of regular services, along with personal care programs like help with showering and dressing, and if health or support needs change, the community's got that whole continuum of care on the same property, which means residents can often stay put while getting the new care they need, whether it's independent living, personal care, memory support, or skilled nursing. Folks pay only for the services they need, which eases some costs, and the whole campus promotes a purpose-driven way of living called Life with Purpose™, encouraging people to be active and engaged, so in the end Frederick Living gives a real range of choices for older adults who want connection, support, and different types of care, all in a friendly place that feels like home.
