    Beautiful community, caring staff, expensive

I placed my mom in this beautiful, new Christian community and have been very impressed - immaculate facility, lovely courtyards and common spaces, tasty meals, active programs and worship, and an exceptional, caring staff and clinical team who make residents feel at home. Memory care and therapy are strong, but it is expensive; some families noted limited moving help, occasional poor night-shift attitudes, and needing outside caregivers. Overall I'm grateful to the team and comfortable with our choice.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive with repeated emphasis on exceptional staff, a clean and attractive facility, and an engaged, faith-based community atmosphere. Many reviewers describe Dominion Senior Living of Anderson as a place where staff know residents personally, act like family, and are consistently responsive to concerns. The words "amazing," "caring," "dedicated," and "go above and beyond" recur throughout the summaries; families credit the staff with delivering individualized attention, facilitating positive transitions from home, and creating an environment where residents thrive and feel loved.

Facility quality and appearance are another dominant theme. Multiple reviewers highlight that the community is new, immaculately maintained, and beautifully designed with large common areas, courtyards, outdoor rockers, and visible landscaping like gardens. The physical environment is repeatedly described as welcoming and home-like, with several mentions of HGTV-like aesthetics. Cleanliness and maintenance are emphasized as key strengths, reinforcing the perception of high overall standards.

The community’s faith-based identity is prominent and valued by many reviewers. Regular worship services, daily group devotions, and an explicit mission of "honoring God through service to seniors" are frequently noted. For families seeking a Christian environment, reviewers highlight that spiritual needs are integrated into daily life and staff convey a sense of ministry and care that many describe as a blessing.

Programming, dining, and therapy receive frequent praise. Activities mentioned across reviews include bingo, social events, visiting musicians, cookouts, gardening, shopping outings, and day trips—contributing to strong socialization and an active resident lifestyle. Dining is described positively, with specific menu items like chicken and dumplings cited as examples of well-liked meals. There is also consistent commendation for an excellent therapy program and a top-notch clinical team, with several reviews calling the memory care individualized and outstanding.

Despite the largely positive picture, there are notable concerns and outliers that potential residents and families should weigh. Cost is a recurrent downside—many reviewers describe the community as expensive and question value when additional external care is needed. A number of families reported they had to hire outside caregivers because specific care needs were not fully met by the facility, which undermined perceived value for the price. One serious individual concern involved an "unsecured memory care wing" that prevented placement of a resident; that same reviewer reported a check had been cashed and a lengthy refund delay, pointing to an administrative or policy breakdown in that instance. Limited moving assistance was also mentioned by some as a negative.

Other more situational negatives include pandemic-era visitor restrictions noted by reviewers who experienced limited access during COVID, a lack of a designated smoking area that made the community challenging for long-term smokers, and one isolated report of rude attitudes on the night shift. A few reviewers found the community's large size overwhelming for certain residents, and some accommodations include semi-private rooms with shared bathrooms, which could be a privacy concern for some families.

In summary, the dominant themes portray Dominion Senior Living of Anderson as a high-quality, faith-centered community with outstanding, compassionate staff, excellent cleanliness, active programming, and strong clinical resources—especially in memory care as reported by many. Prospective residents should be aware of higher costs and confirm the scope of care included in pricing, clarify policies around memory care security and refunds, inquire about moving assistance, and discuss room types and smoking policies to ensure a good fit. Overall, reviewers overwhelmingly praise the people and the environment, with a handful of administrative and care-scope concerns that warrant direct clarification prior to move-in.
