    Warm attentive staff, dated facilities

I toured this small, family-run community and liked the warm, homey feel - very caring, personable staff who know residents by name, clean common areas, good Southern-style food, and plenty of activities with 24-hour supervision. Rooms and hallways are older, on the small/dark side, and menu/activities can be limited at times; renovations are in progress. Staff and care are the facility's strongest points, but it's not ideal if you need modern rooms or a secure memory-care unit. Overall I'd recommend it for someone who wants attentive, affordable, small-community care, with the usual caveats about building age and dementia needs.

Windsor House Greenville sits on Pelham Road on Greenville's Eastside, close to hospitals, doctors, rehab centers, shopping, and food, making daily life and visits comfortable for residents and their families, and there's always something going on nearby if folks want it. The community has 50 beds in spacious studio-style units, with individual HVAC units and showers with built-in seats and handgrips for extra safety, plus wireless staff call buttons and Wi-Fi, so residents can stay safe and connected. Residents can bring their own furniture to make the space feel homier or use what's supplied by Windsor House, which seems to help people settle in. The place is fully handicap accessible and offers parking and complimentary transportation for residents and visitors, which helps keep people independent and makes outings easier, and the staff, including Caregivers, Medication Technicians, Activities, Dietary, and Management Personnel, all have the reputation for being friendly, helpful, and kind to residents and guests alike, which is important.

Windsor House offers assisted living, memory care, independent living options, and home care, so seniors can pick what best fits their needs, and there's help with daily tasks like dressing, bathing, medication management, toileting, safety and walking, and general health monitoring. The care approach is person-centered, with each resident's needs and life choices respected, so folks get as much independence as possible while still having someone to turn to for help whenever needed. There's a structured program with a full calendar of social, educational, and entertaining activities so residents can stay engaged and active, whether they want to join ice cream socials, game nights, dancing, outings, or take part in planting and gardening outdoors, and they can also attend devotional services off-site if that's something they like. There's a communal dining room for shared meals, and the dining staff serves fine, nutritious sit-down meals using good ingredients, which seems to make mealtimes something to look forward to. When care needs grow, Windsor House also provides hospice and respite care, with family coaching and placement services for Alzheimer's and dementia.

The environment feels home-like, not institutional, with small, familiar surroundings and dedicated spaces for gathering, relaxing, or playing the piano when someone feels up to it, so folks don't feel lost or overlooked. Windsor House allows pets and doesn't permit smoking in private and public indoor areas, and the approach tries to keep everyone comfortable and happy. Residents tend to make friends through all the activities and daily routines, and those who want to stay connected to family from afar can take virtual tours or have long-distance visits arranged. Windsor House scores 4.0 stars in reviews, and it stays committed to each person's comfort, safety, and personal care needs.
