    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive: reviewers repeatedly emphasize warm, compassionate staff, attractive new facilities, appealing apartments and robust amenities, and high-quality dining. Most comments convey satisfaction from both prospective residents and family members, including specific endorsements (for example, family members reporting that a parent loved the community and was moving in). The dominant themes are staff warmth and engagement, well-maintained and modern living spaces, and active, enjoyable dining and programming.

Care quality and staff behavior are the most frequently cited strengths. Reviewers describe staff as welcoming, attentive, kind, compassionate and genuinely engaged with residents — greeting people at meals, asking residents questions during activities, pairing residents or families to encourage socialization, and interacting in ways that create a home- or family-like atmosphere. Several reviews note staff who are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about health care and resource options beyond immediate support, which contributes to family confidence in the community’s ability to support residents’ needs. Tours and move-in interactions are repeatedly described as informative and responsive, with staff answering questions thoroughly.

Facilities and apartments receive consistently high marks. The community is described as new, beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Apartment-level features called out across reviews include spacious floor plans, full-service kitchens, large kitchens, walk-in bathrooms, walk-in closets, and balconies. Common areas are highlighted as attractive and plentiful — reviewers mention theater and game rooms, a chapel, and other inviting communal spaces. Multiple reviewers specifically praise the property’s aesthetic and the convenience of the living environment.

Dining and activities are another strong area. Comments frequently mention delicious dining and special meals prepared for occasions, reinforcing the family-friendly and celebratory aspects of community life. Activity programming is described as plentiful and well staffed; reviewers note that staff engage residents during activities and that the community pairs residents or families for socialization, which supports active engagement and reduces isolation. The combination of good food, regular activities and attentive staff creates a notably uplifting day-to-day environment according to reviewers.

Management, communication and move-in logistics are portrayed positively overall: tours are informative, staff are thorough and responsive, and several reviewers report smooth transitions for incoming residents. The community appears well positioned for independent living residents and receives direct praise from tenants and family members for being a ‘‘great place to call home.’n

Patterns of concern are limited but consistent across multiple reviews and merit attention. The most frequently noted negative issue is communications and marketing practices: reviewers report unsolicited mailings and a failure to remove families from mailing lists after requests — including insensitivity when families have lost loved ones. This is a distinct and recurring concern that contrasts with otherwise strong praise for staff warmth and care. A second recurring issue is lack of pricing transparency: several reviewers requested that pricing be made easy to find on the website and placed next to floor plans. Both concerns are actionable and, if addressed, likely to improve the overall prospective-customer experience without changing the strong operational strengths already highlighted.

In summary, The Parkwood is portrayed in these reviews as a well-appointed, modern community with exceptional staff, strong dining, active programming and apartments that meet or exceed expectations for independent living. The primary opportunities for improvement lie in external communications and pricing transparency; resolving those items would align the community’s marketing and web presence with the positive in-person experiences described by residents and families.
