    Caring staff and beautiful facilities

I placed my grandmother here and I'm very pleased - the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, and the building and apartments are beautiful, clean, spacious, and well-lit with private baths. On-site physical therapy/rehab, hair services, housekeeping and laundry, community dining with good meals, lots of activities and off-site trips, a movie theater, coffee bar and shuttle make daily life easy. Overall a very good, welcoming community that gives me peace of mind and I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews convey a generally positive picture of StoneyBrook Suites Assisted Living. Families and residents describe a welcoming, well-maintained facility with a strong emphasis on rehabilitation services, social activities, and attentive staff. Satisfaction and recommendations appear common themes, tempered by concerns primarily about cost and a few operational details.

Care and staff: Care delivery is characterized as attentive and supportive. Reviewers highlight staff friendliness, respectfulness, and an ability to respond to emergencies. The presence of on-site rehabilitation and hospital-based therapists is consistently noted as a strength, with weekday physical therapy availability reducing the need for offsite transfers. These elements suggest a facility organized to provide both routine assisted-living care and rehabilitative support.

Dining: Dining is described in predominantly positive terms — community-style dining, adequate portions, and a generally favorable assessment of food quality. However, some feedback indicates variability in the menu or opportunities to improve meal options. Prospective residents who prioritize culinary variety may want to sample meals and ask about menu rotation and special-diet accommodations.

Activities and amenities: The activity program appears robust, with frequent on-site and off-site options (e.g., card games, crafts, music events, bingo, golf/bean-bag-style games), transportation for outings, and amenity spaces such as a movie theater and coffee bar. These offerings contribute to a socially active environment that reviewers say supports resident engagement and enjoyment.

Facilities and services: The building is described as attractive, clean, bright, and well maintained. Apartment choices range from studios to two-bedroom units, many with private bathrooms, and housekeeping and laundry services are provided. Additional on-site services such as hair care and an organized shuttle to medical appointments add convenience for residents and families.

Management and notable patterns: The most consistent operational concern in the reviews is pricing; several families characterize the community as expensive. There is also occasional feedback pointing to variability in meal menus and a lack of clarity around the pet policy. Otherwise, reviewers emphasize responsive staff and a smooth transition process for new residents. Prospective residents should weigh the higher cost against the facility's rehabilitation capabilities, activity offerings, and staff responsiveness.

Bottom line: StoneyBrook Suites presents as a well-appointed assisted-living community with strong rehabilitative resources, an active social program, and generally praised staff. Key considerations for prospective residents are cost, menu preferences, and clarification of pet policies; an in-person visit focused on meal sampling, therapy-program details, and contract/pricing transparency would address the primary outstanding questions from reviews.

    About StoneyBrook Suites Assisted Living

StoneyBrook Suites Assisted Living in Watertown, South Dakota, is a state-licensed facility that's been serving seniors since 1999, and what you've got here is a place with 66 licensed beds that offers long-term care for older adults who need help with daily living but don't require a nursing home, and you'll find both private and semi-private suites in layouts like studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom options, plus the place got completely remodeled so the suites, physical therapy room, coffee shop, and movie theater are all up-to-date and pretty comfortable. Residents can choose to spend time in the lounge or dining areas, enjoy meals in a restaurant-style setting where chefs and meal planners work on nutritious, good-tasting food, and folks have access to a coffee shop right there on the property, which makes a nice spot for sitting with visitors.

The facility gives seniors the support they need-like assistance with bathing, dressing, or medication management-and each resident gets a personalized care plan, which takes into account their health conditions, changing needs, and wishes, and what's more is there's memory care for folks with dementia, along with healthcare help for things such as incontinence and diabetes, plus the staff, including people like Jennifer Olson, RNN, Mollie Lieffort, LPN, and Stephanie Hanson, have training and are there to provide care with respect and kindness. StoneyBrook Suites brings together CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and all kinds of caregivers, offering both employment and a reliable level of care, and while the place doesn't accept Medicare unless certified, it's often more affordable than a full-time nursing home.

The community feels home-like, with a cozy atmosphere, and it's set up for residents to feel secure, with amenities like a courtyard for outdoor enjoyment, housekeeping, transportation, and even parking for those who still drive or get rides, and people often cite that the staff's helpful, joyful, and downright kind ways make every day friendlier. Activities go further than the basics, and the community's won the Best of Senior Living All Star Award for excellent programs that focus on keeping residents connected, inspired, and happy-there's an Activities Director and restorative therapy staff who organize things to keep folks active socially, mentally, and physically. The physical therapy room is ready for daily restorative sessions and there's a state-of-the-art movie theater on-site to gather for films or special events, and it's good to note the staff listen to residents and make an effort to support both independence and comfort.

StoneyBrook Suites is recognized for its quality and care, and you'll find accommodations for different needs, a mix of activities, and a dedication to making residents feel included and at home, with all the basic services people expect like medication management, housekeeping, dining, recreation, tailored care, and chances to relax or join the group in a safe, homey setting.
