    Compassionate, clean, attentive senior care

I placed my mother here for her final year and couldn't be more satisfied. The staff - led by director Jenene Jones - were professional, compassionate and treated her like family; she regained confidence, was well cared for and genuinely happy. The small, clean, wooded campus is warm and home-like with friendly residents, active social events, good food, a nice common room and on-site beauty parlor (in-room kitchenettes too). Elevator access to dining/living areas can be a consideration for mobility-impaired residents, but it worked out for us. I have peace of mind and highly recommend this close-knit, attentive community.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Cedar Hills Senior Living are overwhelmingly positive, with a consistent emphasis on compassionate, professional staff and a warm, home-like community atmosphere. Most reviewers highlight the facility as a small, close-knit environment where residents receive personal attention and genuine care. Families repeatedly report peace of mind, significant improvements in residents' mood and independence, and strong recommendations based on direct experience.

Staff and care quality: The dominant theme across the reviews is the quality of the staff. Descriptors such as professional, caring, sincere, compassionate, attentive, and engaging recur frequently. Reviewers specifically note that staff interact directly with residents (walking with them, playing cards, giving personal attention) and treat residents with dignity and respect. Several comments single out leadership by name, indicating confidence in management; one reviewer explicitly praised director Jenene Jones for making a resident's final year happy. The net effect portrayed is a patient-first approach and family-like treatment that fosters trust and contentment among residents and families.

Facilities and environment: Cedar Hills is described as a small, attractive facility set in a quiet, wooded setting with nice grounds. Interior amenities include a welcoming common room equipped with a pool table and a large-screen TV and an on-site beauty parlor. Units may include in-room kitchenettes, and the dining area is noted as very nice. Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, and reviewers describe a warm, inviting, home-like feel. These physical attributes support a tranquil, comfortable senior living experience for residents who are reasonably mobile and engaged.

Activities and social life: Reviewers report an active social calendar with many activities, including organized get-togethers, field trips, games, card play, and walking support from staff. The community is characterized as lively and engaging, which appears to contribute to residents regaining confidence and social independence. The small size of the community is presented as a benefit in fostering close relationships among residents, staff, and families.

Dining: The dining experience receives positive remarks—food is praised, the dining area is attractive, and communal dining is encouraged as part of social life. The presence of in-room kitchenettes is noted as an added convenience for residents who prefer or require it. There are no specific complaints about food quality or dining operations in the reviews provided.

Concerns and limitations: The most prominent concern across reviews relates to accessibility and suitability for residents with mobility limitations or dementia. Several comments point out that many rooms are upstairs while the dining and main living areas are downstairs, making reliable elevator access essential; these layout features make Cedar Hills potentially unsuitable for residents who use wheelchairs, have significant mobility impairment, or need higher levels of memory care. Another recurring operational note is limited availability — reviewers mention that there are no openings at times, indicating potential waitlists. The facility also has a no-pets policy, which could be a drawback for prospective residents who wish to keep animals.

Patterns and overall recommendation: Taken together, the reviews paint a picture of a small, well-kept, compassionate senior living community that excels at attentive, individualized care and active social programming. Cedar Hills appears particularly well suited for seniors who are socially engaged and have mild to moderate care needs rather than those requiring intensive mobility assistance or specialized dementia care. Families seeking a clean, home-like setting with strong staff relationships and active programming are likely to find Cedar Hills an excellent fit, while families needing high accessibility or pet-friendly policies should verify accommodations in advance.
