    Spotless homey facility compassionate staff

I moved my mom in and have been very pleased - the facility is spotless, the meals are excellent, and the staff are warm, attentive, and compassionate. It's a cozy, home-like setting with private rooms, on-site medical/therapy services, beautiful grounds, and visible ownership/administration who keep family informed and cater to individual needs. Overall it exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews paint Great Southern Senior Living as a small, residential-style senior living option with consistent strengths in cleanliness, ambiance, and personalized care. Families describe a tidy, renovated property that conveys a quiet, home-like feeling. Private rooms with en-suite baths, well-kept grounds, and multiple family visiting areas are frequently noted as facility-level strengths.

Care quality and staffing emerge as a central positive theme. Reviewers emphasize attentive, respectful caregivers who provide one-on-one, individualized support and maintain ongoing communication with families. Several comments highlight low staff turnover, an approachable administrator and owner who visit the property, and a familial staff–resident dynamic. These features suggest stable staffing patterns and an emphasis on relationship-based care.

Dining and clinical services receive favorable mention. Meals are characterized as healthy and well-prepared, with food quality described positively. On-site clinical resources — including a physician, physical therapy, and pharmacy access — are listed among available supports, which can simplify care coordination for many residents.

Activity programming is presented as resident-focused and engaging; staff are described as keeping people entertained and occupied. Given the facility’s small, intimate scale, activities are likely delivered in a personalized and informal manner rather than through large-scale programming.

Management and operations appear hands-on. The owner and administrator are described as accessible, responsive to questions, and involved on-site. Families report clear communication and regular updates, which supports transparency and trust. The small ownership model is presented as contributing to a family-like culture rather than a corporate approach.

Notable patterns and cautions: the facility’s small size and home-like model are repeatedly cited as strengths, but they also imply operational trade-offs. Prospective residents with complex, high-acuity medical needs should verify the facility’s capacity for skilled nursing and 24/7 clinical oversight, since intimate settings sometimes have limited ability to manage advanced medical care. Similarly, the quality of programming and day-to-day operations appears closely tied to specific staff and owner involvement; families should clarify contingency plans for staff turnover and management transitions. Finally, the smaller resident population creates a close-knit social environment that many families prefer, but it may offer fewer peer-match options for some individuals.

Overall, the reviews indicate a facility that excels at individualized, relationship-focused care in a clean, comfortable setting. Interested families should confirm clinical scope (especially for higher-acuity needs), staffing coverage patterns, and availability to ensure alignment with the prospective resident’s long-term care requirements.

    About Great Southern Senior Living

Great Southern Senior Living sits out on Pisgah Road in Cordova, TN, with a country setting and acres of land that feel open and quiet, and what stands out right off is the way the buildings look and feel more like someone's home than a big facility, with things like spacious bedrooms and handcrafted crown molding you notice as soon as you walk in, and it's got this place called Pisgah Home that's real home-like too. The place has over 20 years of experience in caring for seniors, and Mr. Steve Chandler manages the business, running it with a focus on personalized care for every person who moves in, offering services that cover assisted living, memory care, nursing homes, independent living, and all sorts of in-home care through what they call adult family homes and residential care homes, so you don't get just one kind of care but lots of choices. They've shaped their care plans to fit every resident, and they'll provide both private and semi-private rooms, making sure folks get the kind of privacy or social company they prefer, and there's constant 24/7 care and security so families have peace of mind even at night. The staff keep a small caregiver-to-resident ratio, so residents get noticed and not forgotten about, and besides daily housekeeping and laundry services, there are social activities each day to keep everyone engaged and not staring at the walls. Memory care gets special attention, with therapy and housing for folks living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and all the care types-from assisted living to in-home support-are described clearly in terms like Senior Care Resources and Housing Options, and reviews of the place are verified and hand-picked, aiming for truth about what everyday life is. Pricing isn't always published, but estimates run around $165 to over $7,000 a month and the fee setup means families can get help from an advisor for free, only paying if they decide to move their loved one in. Great Southern Senior Living doesn't carry BBB accreditation but has a high rating from people who've used the place, getting 5.0 stars in 14 reviews, and they put an emphasis on helping families compare options and make decisions that fit their needs with help from local advisors who know the area, all so nobody has to feel lost figuring out where to go next.
