    Caring staff, clean rooms, excellent

My mother moved into this small, family-owned place and we couldn't be happier. The caring, competent staff treat residents like family - superb care team - and my mom absolutely loves it. Rooms are roomy, clean, and accommodate personal furniture with good privacy in a peaceful country setting; food is delicious (cafeteria-style) and the facility is up-to-date. I highly endorse it as one of the best in West TN.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers highly endorse Oak Haven Assisted Care, describing it as a "wonderful place," "best of the best," and praising the facility as one of the best in the area. Families repeatedly comment that their relatives are happy there (e.g., "grandmother loves it") and that proper care is being provided, indicating a high level of trust in the facility's services.

Care quality and staff are consistently highlighted as major strengths. Reviewers characterize the care team as caring, competent, friendly, and "amazing," with several comments that residents are treated "like family." Phrases such as "superb care team," "competent staff," and "happy with staff" occur across summaries, suggesting reliable day-to-day caregiving and strong interpersonal relationships between staff, residents, and families. The facility's relatively small size and family-owned character are tied to this positive perception, with reviewers noting that a limited number of residents allows staff to provide proper, personalized attention.

Facilities and accommodations receive frequent praise for being up-to-date, roomy, and clean. Multiple reviewers mention "excellent accommodations," "nice spacious rooms," and the ability for residents to bring their own furniture, which contributes to a sense of privacy and personalization. The country setting and country-living vibe are also highlighted, painting a picture of a quiet, comfortable environment outside of an urban center. One review explicitly calls Oak Haven the best in the West Tennessee area, indicating strong local reputation.

Dining is another commonly cited positive. Reviewers describe the food as "great" and "delicious," and note the cafeteria-style dining setup. While cafeteria-style service is presented positively by those who commented on food quality, it is a distinguishing feature that some prospective residents may wish to understand in terms of formality or meal flexibility. Overall, dining is reported as a strength rather than a drawback.

Activities and programming show a mixed picture. Several summaries mention "many good activities," but at least one reviewer explicitly notes "limited activities." This is the clearest recurring concern across the reviews. The contrast suggests that while activities exist and some residents and families are satisfied, others perceive the activity offering as less robust. Prospective residents who prioritize a very active social or program schedule should inquire further about the current activity calendar and participation levels.

Management and ownership impressions are positive, with multiple references to the facility being small and family-owned, which reviewers tie to friendly staff and personalized care. The small size and limited resident count are repeatedly described as beneficial for privacy and individualized attention. No consistent operational or management complaints appear in the summaries provided.

In summary, Oak Haven Assisted Care is portrayed as a small, family-run, country-style assisted living community with clean, spacious, and up-to-date accommodations. Strengths are centered on compassionate and competent staff, personalized care enabled by a limited resident population, and high-quality dining. The primary area to probe further is the breadth and consistency of activities programming, since reviews contain both positive notes about "many good activities" and at least one mention of "limited activities." Overall, the reviews indicate a facility that is highly recommended by families and residents for its care, atmosphere, and accommodations.

About Oak Haven Assisted Care Living Facility

Oak Haven Assisted Care Living Facility sits on a hill in Huron, Tennessee, surrounded by oak trees and overlooking the green landscape, and this peaceful setting has helped residents feel at home ever since Max and Sally Stanfill opened the doors back in June 1996, when Lillie Mae Williams and Mary Blanch Stanfill became the first two to call it home. Max Stanfill serves as administrator, and the facility's been owned and operated by the Stanfill family for over 17 years, focusing on a nurturing, home-like environment where folks can get as much independence as possible while still having help close by for things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine. Every room, whether it's a furnished studio or an unfurnished private space, comes with support like medication reminders, laundry service seven days a week, and housekeeping, plus a telephone and emergency alert system for safety. The staff, known to be friendly and skilled, help with everyday needs around the clock, including diabetes care, incontinence care, transfers, and non-ambulatory care, with nurses and caregivers on site at all hours.

Oak Haven has both assisted living and memory care programs, so residents with cognitive changes get extra attention, and everyone has a personalized care plan made just for them. Meals are freshly cooked every day-three a day-with special options for allergies or diabetes, and folks can join in community dining, relax in lounges, walk beautiful paths, or sit out front on the porch to listen to the birds and watch the sunrise. There's a garden, a dedicated arts room, a community salon, and spaces set aside for meditation, fellowship, and worship; plus, twice every Sunday, there are church services, and afternoons usually bring a movie in the lounge. The activity calendar offers off-site outings, transportation for appointments or exploring the area, resident-run events, and daily programs meant to keep people engaged and social, and staff are purposeful about helping everyone keep up with hobbies, stay connected, and find new interests.

With its high rating of 9.4 out of 10, Oak Haven is known for the way residents and families talk about the supportive feeling you sense right away, helped along by a team that's joyful, kind, and always nearby. The facility works to keep things simple and comfortable-offering beauty and barber services, pharmacy support, and tailored care-so long-term residents and their families get ongoing help. Oak Haven is tied to the Tennessee Health Care Association and offers CNA training for caregivers. People who want to live life fully yet need help with daily tasks find Oak Haven's quiet setting and personalized, steady approach helpful, especially for seniors who value dignity, home-cooked meals, a steady helping hand, and the sound of the oaks outside.
