    Compassionate staff, excellent care, amenities

I moved to Asbury at Steadman Hill and couldn't be happier. The staff are fantastic - compassionate, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond; they treat me like family and deserve raises/bonuses to keep them. My apartment and the dining areas are clean and spacious, the food is excellent (chefs accommodate special diets), and there are lots of activities plus convenient rides to appointments and shopping. I feel safe, well cared for, and highly recommend Asbury at Steadman Hill.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is highly positive, with reviewers repeatedly emphasizing exceptional staff and a warm, family-like atmosphere at Steadman Hill Assisted Living (Asbury at Steadman Hill). The dominant theme is the quality of caregiving: staff are described as caring, genuine, and deeply dedicated, frequently going above and beyond routine duties. Multiple reviewers explicitly state that staff treat residents like family, provide attentive and compassionate care, and offer peace of mind to both residents and their families. Several comments highlight that staff support extends beyond basic needs and includes emotional warmth, continuity of care (including hospice coordination), and strong communication with families.

Facility and living environment receive consistently favorable remarks. The community is described as extremely clean, with spacious apartments and well-maintained common areas. Reviewers point out a thoughtfully designed dining room and Bistro, noting that the dining area is convenient and pleasant. Food quality is emphasized: menus are varied, chefs are accommodating of special diets, and meal service is appreciated. These elements are repeatedly tied to resident satisfaction, with reviewers saying the dining experience contributes significantly to the positive atmosphere.

Activity programming and amenities are another prominent strength. Reviews mention abundant exercise options and a wide range of activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, and social events that promote engagement and foster friendships. Transportation services for medical appointments, dental visits, and shopping are also cited as practical benefits that reduce hassles for residents and families. Reviewers frequently link these services to residents experiencing a joyful, active life and to families feeling reassured about daily logistics and health-related needs.

Management and staff culture appear robust in terms of commitment and competence. Commenters describe staff as knowledgeable and capable of addressing medical needs, with several noting excellent coordination with hospice when needed. Family members feel supported and confident in the care provided. However, a recurring operational concern is staff compensation and retention: at least one reviewer explicitly called for raises and bonuses to retain the dedicated team. This suggests that while current staffing and care quality are strong, there may be underlying vulnerabilities related to employee turnover if compensation issues are not addressed.

Privacy and personal-care dynamics are the main negative pattern in the reviews. A few reviewers raised concerns about multiple staff members arriving at once for bathroom assistance or personal care and noted surveillance/privacy worries. While these reports are relatively limited compared to the volume of positive comments, they point to an area where the community could review protocols to ensure resident dignity and minimize intrusion, especially during sensitive moments.

In summary, the aggregated reviews portray Steadman Hill Assisted Living as a well-run community with outstanding, compassionate staff, excellent dining and activity offerings, clean and spacious facilities, and services that bring peace of mind to residents and families. The most significant areas for management attention are addressing staff compensation/retention to preserve the high level of care and refining privacy practices around personal care to ensure resident comfort and dignity. Absent those issues, reviewers overwhelmingly recommend the community and describe it as a place where residents thrive socially, physically, and emotionally.
